Thanks for the positive confirmation. Hmm... I already filed 2 claims on Honda Plus while living in NJ via a honda dealer in NJ. One think i could think of is that the standard rate for a honda mechanic in US is around 60-75 per hour. If a US dealer is providing any type of service for Honda Plus, they will want that same rate which translate to 84-105 Cdn$$. That IS a VERY steep rate for Honda Plus Canada to pay out. > > > > "Stephen Bigelow" <sbigelowPOV@rogers.com> wrote in message > > news:846Jb.213697$2We1.183586@news04.bloor.is.net. cable.rogers.com... > > > > > > "X" <X@Y.COM> wrote in message > news:E7GdnTHmWceXWmmi4p2dnA@comcast.com... > > > > errr.. .Stephen, WRONG ! > > > > > > > > Honda does honor its warranty and even honors the 'honda' extended > > > warranty! > > > > It's Honda Plus in canada > > > > and Honda Care in US. > > > > > > Will Honda Plus honour a Honda Care? > > > > > > Have you actually done this? > > > > > > > > > > "Stephen Bigelow" <sbigelowPOV@rogers.com> wrote in message > > > > news:cQtHb.182638$ea%.98545@news01.bloor.is.net.ca ble.rogers.com... > > > > > > > > > > "JH" <jhoremans@rogers.com> wrote in message > > > > > news:bsllnv$dk312$1@ID-200917.news.uni-berlin.de... > > > > > > some manufacturers such as Toyota and Chrysler will not honour the > > > > > warranty. > > > > > > > > > > Nobody will honour a warranty on anything bought from another > company. > > > > > > > > > > Sony Canada > > > > > Honda Canada > > > > > JVC Canada...etc. warranty is issued by, and honoured by, _them_. > > > > > > > > > > Sony, Honda, and JVC USA are entirely different companies. > > > > > > > > > > Now, onto some answers.... > > > > > > > http://www.honda.ca/HondaEng/YouAndY...f_Vehicles.htm > > > > > > > > > > > "dano" <adfa@unknown.net> wrote in message > > > > > > news:B%rHb.681351$Fm2.589780@attbi_s04... > > > > > > > Hello, > > > > > > > I was curious if anyone has looked into the pros/cons of buying > an > > > > > > > automobile across the border in Canada and bringing it into the > > USA? > > > > I > > > > > > live > > > > > > > in Seattle so that's not very far... > > > > > > > > > > > > > > A friend of ours said they know a couple that have done it... > > > > hopefully > > > > > it > > > > > > > was worth it in not being much trouble, and cost-savings? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Anyone know anything on this, have an experience or know where > to > > > get > > > > > some > > > > > > > more information on this? > > > > > > > I would suspect that once you came into the country with it... > > lets > > > > say > > > > > > > Canada for example... you would have (x) amount of days to pay > the > > > > taxes > > > > > > and > > > > > > > perhaps get some emmisions test or something and all that??? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Thanks > > > > > > > Dano > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > |
Re: Question on Buying a Car in Canada - REPAIR - WATCH OUT
The one thing that really sucks about driving a Canadian car
in the US is to take it to your local Honda Dealer. I took my beloved honda to the dealer for the usual 60 Km service which should only cost about $ 200 max. The dealer was confused (didn't read the odometer correctly) and gave me the 90,000 MILES service which include the works (timing belt, hoses, flushing fluids, .......) Total cost? almost $ 1100.00. So just be a little extra careful when you take it to the dealership for service "dano" <adfa@unknown.net> wrote in message news:B%rHb.681351$Fm2.589780@attbi_s04... > Hello, > I was curious if anyone has looked into the pros/cons of buying an > automobile across the border in Canada and bringing it into the USA? Re: Question on Buying a Car in Canada - REPAIR - WATCH OUT
Well I'm from canada and I can tell you one big advantage about buying a car
in canada (at least certain places in canada for example Newfoundland) cars are a damn lot cheaper. However a con would be that in parts of canada where salt is used on the roads in the winter, and if near salty water, the cars are sometimes rusty. Re: Question on Buying a Car in Canada
Try Calif.....where the hourly rate is $80-85 per hour in US $
BTW...where is your Honda registered? If one were able to buy a car in Canada, customs duty also must be paid, in addition to applicable sales taxes.
