winters... A friend from Toronto once told me he had to toss away an
otherwise perfectly good car, because the floor was completely rusted
through...

Southern Ontario is no different in climate than Detroit, Cleveland
Pittsburgh, Buffalo or even Boston for that matter.
I had a floor give out on a 90 Fifth Avenue after 11 winters and that was
only because I didn't oil spray it each year.
Those horror stories of two years and rot are old hat now with the better
undercoating coming from the factory and winters are not near as harsh as
they were ten years ago so less salt is used on our roads.

Ontario is not any colder than most of the US states such as,
Wisconsin, Wyoming, Massechussets, NY, Washington, Minnesota etc.
