Bought an Elantra...
Traded in the 2001 Accent GS tonight for an Elantra. On the drive home was
very pleased with the vehicle so far. It's the standard model with 5-speed
manual transmission. A nice upgrade from the old Accent!

It sounds like the computer controlling the transmission needs tweaking
(really, there IS one). Take it into the dealer, it's covered in the
warranty.
