Looking into '04 Tiburon
I'm looking into purchasing a new 2004 Tiburon. From what I've read and
heard in reviews, etc, it seems like a great car. I'm especially attracted
to the 10/100 warranty since I plan on financing.
What would be the best time of year to buy one if I want to get a good deal?
I'm assuming the 2005s hit the showrooms in a matter of months, so when
would be the best time to ****** a 2004?
I'm looking at the GT V6 4-speed Shiftronic tranny (Auto). Can someone
explain exactly what Shiftronic is? I looked on their site but there's no
explanation on this from what I could see. I understand it's part of the
auto-transmission package.
I live in high-traffic areas though, so would you recommend the automatic
tranny over the 6-speed manual?
Thanks for any help.

Later in the month would be better, since the salespeople will be more
willing to knock a few hundred $ off the price so they can make quota.

It's a slightly different interface on top of a normal auto tranny.
Looks like this:
P
R
N +
D-o
-
....put the car in D, then throw the lever over to the right and you're
in Shiftronic mode. Push the lever up to the + to shift up one gear,
push the lever down to the - to shift down one gear. Fun, but not
really necessary in normal circumstances because the V6 Tiburon has
enough power to accelerate and pass most of the cars on the road.

You live in more than one high-traffic area? That must be a pain; most
of the time, people have their summer homes/cabins as far out in the
boonies as they can get. Well, this might be difficult in the NYC area,
but whatever.
Transmission choice is a personal thing; take whatever you think will
work best for you. If you're living in NYC, take the auto tranny,
it'll cause you less pain and suffering in the traffic jams.

Re: Looking into '04 Tiburon
Thanks Matt. Yeah, I work in New York and live on Long Island -- that's why
I mentioned the (plural) high-traffic areas =) I appreciate the feedback.
I'm most likely going with the auto tranny. Thanks again!
