Looking at Tiburon
I'm in market for a new car - currently have a cavalier with 220,000 miles
in 7 years so I tend to do a fair amount of miles.
Am look for a reasonably priced coupe and tiburon struck me as well equipped
and priced but I've a friend has warned me against Hyundai.
I would think this is a good place to ask about quality, reliability and
owner satisfaction.
Also how much of a differnece between 2003 and 2004 as some dealers may have
2003 in stock for a good price.....

We have a 2003 Tiburon with 23k on it and love it. It seems to be a
well built car and I am sure that many others here will agree. The
quality and reliability have been just great so far, no complaints
from us. Well actually, I do have one complaint. The passenger seat
just kills my lower back, after about 20 minutes. The drivers seat is
fine though. This could just be my bad back, who knows, but it bother
me in no other car except for the Eclipse we owned.

Re: Looking at Tiburon
From what I can see, Hyundai's fixed their major reliability problems. I
have no problem saying that I would expect the Tiburon to be better in
quality than just about any GM product. Pick whatever engine/trans setup
suits you most. All are reliable at this point. I will say that the V6
is MUCH smoother than the 4.

Re: Looking at Tiburon
Can't say much about the new Tiburon, but the 97 I drive has over 231,000
miles on it and the only things I've replaced under the hood are belts,
plugs, oil, PCV valve, air cleaner filters and I had to replace my
alternator at about 176,000. If the new Tiburon are anywhere near as
reliable, I wouldn't hesitate to get one. By the way, mine is a manual
transmission and the clutch is still firm.
