Careful. This newsgroup is self-selected, confined to people who have
the wits to work a Usenet client or groups.google, and pretty
low-traffic. That means it may not be a representative sample of
Hyundai owners. I think you'll find that the people who've had problems
with their Hyundais are complaining in alt.autos.{ford, chevrolet,
toyota, honda, etcetera} for obvious reasons.

If you're going to drive it hard, make sure you don't skimp on the
service. Change the oil every 3000 miles, using synthetic oil, and the
engine will last longer and perform better when it's old. Follow the
break-in recommendations (is it 1500 or 3000 miles for an Elantra?) to
the letter, even if you can't normally drive 55. I don't know if
there's anything like newtiburon.com for Elantra owners, but you can
