The best advice would probably be to give it a nice break in period. Drive
it nice and easy for the first 500-1500 miles. Check the owners manual for
the specifics on the break in period, but if you do what it says the car
will last a lot longer.

The manual says a break in period is not necessary, but then gives some
tips you can follow if you want to break it in for some reason (even
though you don't have to). I think this is just for people who are
used to cars needing to be broken in.

Yup, I just picked up a GLS and I believe the manual said don't go over
55mph, no full throttle, no hard braking and keep the motor between 2-4K I
think. This was after they said there's no break-in period required.
