Re: MXV4 + tires on elantra
We have a 2000 Sonata. It came with MXV4 tires.I have replaced the them with
a set of the same.We have almost 60,000 miles on the car and live in the
Houston area.We have a lot of rain and live near Clear Creek where it floods
regularly,I have not had any problems here or on the road as we have
traveled around the state. I believe hydroplaning is caused by a combination
of high water depth and excessive speed. The excessive speed does not give
the water enough time to be displaced from under the tire roll so that it
kind of "slides"over the water and you do not have full control of your
steering. It would not make much difference what kind of tires you had on the
car.
I do not want to use too much space explain in great detail, but if you are
interested,go to tires.com and read for yourself.MXV4 are exceptionally good
tires.Check out the safety specifications and you might be glad you have
them on your car.Just drive more careful and let road surface conditions
dictate your speed.Good luck!
