Tossing beer bottles is for loosers.

I am suprised he was beat so easily. A properly tuned Talon is 400 - 500 HP easy.

There is a blue Talon running around here who would be tough to say the least. He had the motor done to the with a HUGE turbo and enough NOS to shatter glass for 3 city blocks. Mate all that to a special tranny with a race clutch and diff and I have seen this bitch go. Disappears in no time! Actually invited him to bring it to the Oakville Mitsubishi super meet this Sunday. Should be good for a few oooohs and ahhhs.

Moral of the story is... there is always someone fully ready and capable of handing you your *** anytime you want. Accept it like you have a pair and always demand a rematch. :thumbsup

Well i guess there is a first for everything. But i don't have a huge fart cannon or cut springs.

Still think that i have a 15 second car? And thats full interior w/spare and even had my buddy who's like 6'5" in the car with me.

Ahh, i am just teasin ya man. I am glad that we could finally line em up. No one ever has faith in b16's but if you get the right combination of parts, it doesn't take an *** load of money if you have the right setup.
I have a b16 w/p'n'p, valve job, dual valve springs, ti retainers, cam gears, 11.5:1 CR (milled head) running some stage 2 cams, exedy clutch, SRI, 64mm t/b, AEBS intake manifold, 4-2-1 header w/2.5" collector, 2.5" high flow cat to 2.5" SS exhaust....bone stock 1.6L bottom end and some nice sticky tires.
Sure i have to launch at 4200rpm but i kept up with your 350 (5.7L or whatever it is) right from the start until you had to shift to 2nd b/c thats when my car is in its powerband 5800-8500rpm and then i left you pretty good. Like i said after we raced my cars got a lot more top end then it does torque so if we would've raced through 4th (which is kinda stupid going through the city) imagine how much farther ahead i would've been.

Moral of the story is that i'm not scared of V8's.
Cheers

haha definately a good run, and yes you owned me i drove home in shame...i thought i had you for sure off the launch, but once we hit about 80-90 you were pulling hard, i let off at that point, and i could imagine your car is faster on the top end like you said...my 1st loss to a honda, haha good run, you seem like a good guy and you got a quick car.

Btw. Mods to my car (1978 nova) headers and dual exhaust, stock 350 4bbl and stock TH350 tranny thru the stock open diff, nothing fancy what-so-ever, just to let everyone know...that way i dont feel so bad to losing lol

:japan: owned me

not that much....lol....well the most money i've spent on my car is under the hood. I do have my suspension done (springs, shocks, sway bars, strut tower braces) and SIR wheels w/good tires. Unfortunately, i was stupid and lazy and paid a shop to do the b16 swap so thats a little under 4 G's right there. Then the headwork (p'n'p, valve job, milling), then all of the parts in the head or on the head (cams, dual valve springs, ti retainers, ferria valve locks, adjustable cam gears, valve seals, SRI, throttle body, intake manifold, header) and of course my exhaust, spent good money on it tuning it to sound how it does, i've gone through a couple of setups (mufflers, resonators, cats) and different diameter pipe. And then there's tuning. So i don't know, over the years prolly 10 G's give or take, not including basic maintainance (which is $$$ too, i'm really about my car). I've had my car for almost 3 years now so its not like i just took my car to the shop and said here's 10 g's do up my car. I've spent lots of time and effort researching which parts would work effectively with my setup and lots of time wrenching on my car and i'm pretty happy with the results. I need to go back to the dyno for more tuning, going to get rid of the vafc2 and go with uberdata (custom chip) and see what kind of numbers i pull, hoping to get close to 180whp and 120tq, which in my mind is pretty damn good for a N/A stock block b16. But prolly going to wait on tuning until i finish a 1.8L or 2.0L bottom end.
How much have you spent? Did you car originally come with a 350? I don't really know much about old V8's or muscle cars.

my car originally came with a 305 2 bbl which I switched over to a 4 bbl, then blew the engine...pulled it and put in a 350 out of a 1982 full size blazer I got the engine for $200 stock its rated at 180hp and 260tq, but it has upwards of 150,000km on it, the car itself has 290,000km, i got headmen headers $250 and custom bent stainless 2.5" exhaust put on for $350 with shitty canadian tire turbo cherry bomb mufflers....and thats it, its a peice of but its original, its only worth about $800 kil, it needs lots of work I just dont think its worth it, but for the time being its fun to kick the out of...and the car i got for free , with the money thats in it im happy with how quick it is
