So I end up racing a stock looking red ~01 prelude... I spin my fronts lightly through first and he puts almost a car length on me, go to nail second, and the ing shift **** comes off the stick

I would have done that, but the end of the shift stick isn't threaded, it's got a flat edge
If I would have cut the shifter, I would have had to grind a similar flat edge further down the stick... something I didn't want to bother doing.
I ended up greasing the entire shifter assembly, and using some contact cement in the actual plastic shift ****. Hopefully that works.

i did the same thing, stupid momo shift ****. After that I put the threaded stocker on, it CAN'T slip off.
