The point that I'm trying to make is you're coming on here about how 4CYL Honda's are taking out 6CYL domestics. I ask you to prove it, because I know for a fact you're talking out of your ***. I can name a dozen or more domestic cars, even 4 CYL's, that will show a Honda Civic it's ***.
And think before you respond, because I'm not some average street talkin' wannabe. I live, eat, and breathe cars. I know what I'm talking about and I base my opinions on experience and fact, not bullshit. I've owned turbo'd Civics ('99 SiR), turbo'd DSM's (92 Talon TSI, and 92 Talon ES ... not turbo), V8's (91 Trans Am GTA), MR sports cars (91 MR2 Turbo, 1991 Honda Beat), domestics (97 Probe GT, 99 Cadillac Eldorado V8), and a bunch of random .
These "garbage" domestics ARE eating 4 CYL's. Put me in a V6 Mustang and I'll show your Civic tails. A lot of the time it IS the driver. Hell, my old Cadillac Eldorado KILLED Civics/Integras/whatever with its V8 (not bad for a grandpa's car).
But what strikes me as odd is that every stock Civic I've ever seen run has never broken the 15 second barrier in the quarter mile. Not one. 15 seconds is NOT a fast car. It's a slow car. It's a slow, slow, slow, slow car. And guess what? Your Civic is a 15 second car UNLESS you pour some money into it. A lot of these guys running low 14, 13, and even high 12 second cars have poured money into the engine via turbo kits, high performance NA engines, and gutted interiors.
Anwyays, I went way off topic when I was ripping on you, so I'll just finish it. No replacement for displacement, sorry. All things being equal, Honda's are great for fuel economy and reliability. It takes money and wrench time to make a Civic fast, yet a few minor modifications to a Camaro, Mustang, Trans Am, Stealth, GNX, etc. to make them fast. See the difference?
And don't get me wrong, I love Honda's (I've owned two of them). I love imports, and nearly every car I've owned has been one. Hell, I've even owned JDM cars. But I don't make the mistake of thinking my Civic with a B16 can hang with a V8, because it can't. Not without some serious modding.

no disrespect bro but after owning all those cars n other cars you havent mentioned. n to go to a ford probe??? somethings wrong but like you said your talking from experience (if true?) im not saying civics are the fastest cars yes they are slow but the sirs type r's.. are not that slow there not the fastest but not the slowest.. they are the most stylish cars in there class an i wud buy a civic over n e camry probe corrolla. and for people to say there garbage waste of money what ever... how come ill see a civic over a probe any where n e day.... if probes are so great how come people would sink there money into civics over a probe??? proboly because the probe will break down 1 month later..n why is the civic number 1 in theft rate?? why are they the most on insurance...im not trying to argue with n e 1 all im saying is there not garbage they mayb slow but the higher end civics are not as slow n how can you compare a civic to your v8's, mustangs are in a higher class then a civic so it shud never win but if at anytime a civic beats n e other car in a higher class that car has bosting rights but everyone has there own opinion and interests this is mine that is yours.. i just don't understand why people make fun of people because of there car being slow.. if your not racing WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE.. if your taking your car to the track thats one thing but if your just an everyday driver who cares how fast your car is whats the point of having this super fast car if you cant use it..id rather a car that looks nice then drives fast in order for people to see the money and time you put into the car you have show them under your hood atleast if your car looks nice people can appreciate it when you drive by and if they dont like it who cares your car is a personal preference..

My friend has a 1992 Honda civic with a h22 motor, exhaust, and chip. Nothing more just that and only 178whp. He has full interior and crappy street tires. We'll race for money if you want, or just make it a learning lesson for you. So bring out your mr2 and come out and play. or are you scared.
So until you bring out your mr2 and actually do some racing stop telling people what a Honda can or cant do when you dont even own one. Its not always about who has more hp, alot has to do with weight.

But, you got me thinking. The MR2 weighs 3,300 lbs fully loaded with a full tank and me in it (I've weighed this at a truck stop myself). According to various sources on the internet, a 92 Civic is 2,230 lbs- I don't know if that's loaded or not. Anyways, I got to thinking.
I have 270 whp, which equates to 12.45 lbs per HP. You have 178 whp, which equates to 12.52 lbs per HP. That's pretty damn close. Then I figured that I have wide rear tires, a kevlar clutch, and various other tidbits to help me hookup, and I'm 100% positive that I'll hook up faster than your civic anyway. I've got a full interior and these big heavy (24 lbs each) rims. I'm definitey setup for fun, not for racing, but hey, we'll still have a go.
So, your own rice math is still saying that I'd win. I'll teach you a lesson, and sure we can put money down on it (since you seem to have a lot of it). I'd love an extra couple hundred bucks for teaching some smartass Civic owner what's up. Hell, I'll even leave the boost at the stock 13psi it's at right now instead of putting it up to 16 psi (which I haven't dyno'd yet, but we'll say an extra 8 whp or so per lb of boost). So, umm, yea... when I take it out of storage in April, let's race.
I'm all for it Hell, I'll even buy the gas since I'm always up for a good laugh. Just promise me you won't do a ricer flyby when you lose- that's just embarassing for everyone involved
Oh, and just so we're clear- the MR2 is in storage NOW because the place where I stored it takes cars now for $125 for the WINTER. That's damn cheap. So no, it won't be coming out until April.
PS - I've owned two Civics (a 1991 Civic SE hatch, and a 1999 Civic SiR), and yea, neither one of them were fast, even after we swapped a B16 into the 91.

but i remember how slow civics are do you guys remember saying that i remember reading someone say they beat civics with a skateboard... n the probe killed civics... why now you have this 300 hp MR2 higher class car then a civic n now its gonna be a close race.. shouldnt that MR2 EAT the civic since it so slow.. i guess ciivics are not that slow unless the MR2 is REALLY slow.....LOL

I know I challenge pretty much everyone in all my posts but, thats because no one races. Everyone is full of excuses.
