so im leaving work yesterday just minding my own business when i hit a red light this ugly *** red civic it was hatch like the real old ones like 89-90 it had a white body kit fart can and obviously not much more pulls beside me and starts reving his box on wheels. well im not ussually one to race from a stop light but with no other cars around i though what the hell. so i look over laughing at him the lane goes from 2 to 1 so hes trying to get ahead of me light changes. i dump it like 2500 rpm peel out hit second and by end of second im like a car ahead and i can see his lanes ending hes just reving the crap out of his gears(loud *** exhaust i can hear him redlineing). i shift into third let him pull right beside me his lane is just about ending so he either has to hit the snow bank or the brakes. he falls in behind me and im doing like 120 in an 80 hes right on my *** so i do a break check lol stupid ricer i dont ever race this car but when some idiot in his riced out civic driving like mario andretti all the time thinks his car is fast sometimes you have to show him how slow it is when he loses to a 2 litre mk4 lol cause my car is by no means fast at all so if you read this the guy with red civic with white body kit before you start tellin all your gay ricer friends you kept up to a vr or a 1.8t you got owned by a 2.slo mk4 lol ****en ricers

It is pretty sad when you lose to a 2.0 ecspecially in a mk4 jetta. I current have a passat vr parts car just waiting to do the swap over. Im also trying to get the parts together for a homemade turbo setup on the vr, Junkyard special. But as for now i commute alot and the 2.0 is so good on gas thats about it though. I miss my truck 2000 dakota r/t 5.9 r.i.p. Stupid drunk drivers they all should be shot!

that had to be one really shitty ricer running on 3 cylinders with a pop can hole in the side of the block...the 2L is the worst ANYTHING engine ive seen. **** my truck can run side by side with it and thats sad.

the 2.0 is slow but i wouldnt say it's a shitty engine. Its been very reliable so far and is extremely good on fuel. it has 305000km and it still runs strong but ya its deffinatley no powerhouse by anymeans. once it gets nice enough to start driving my bike im goin to pull the engine and swap in the vr out of the passat. Im not intending to build a race car, I just want this to be a nice daily driver. This is my first vdub and it most deffinatley wont be my last. the fit and finish on these cars is great and everything is still really tight at 305k. Best 800 dollar car ever

dont mean to take a on your story, but its funny how every story has that little part somewhere in it, and its usually the guys who street race the most (not saying that YOU do it often, just thought i should point that out).

after any race, everybody starts defending themselves... you raced him, you won... you don't have to tell us that you dont do it often, or ever, that means nothing (this is the kill section, if your'e posting here that means you street race, and just to let you in on a secret.. so do most people on here).

ya amazing deal i know. Its high km, the head gasket was gone when i picked it up. guy didnt wanna fix it. i also had to put a windshield in it and threw 4 snows on it to pass saftey. Did the head gasket myself i got maybe 1500 in it
