My lil v6 may do 400+hp with the spray, but i'd get eaten alive by the cobra. I mean cmon, that supercharger from factory is doing 1:.75 ratio, no aftermarket pulleys, no nothing. Its a beast.

This next bit is a threadjack, im sorry.

Actually, I was drunk the other night and was at a resturaunt (not to threadjack this, sorry mates lol) and a guy came for a pickup order in one of the new Roush stangs, every option and performance package offered by factory, the icon of the new mustangs. My girlfriend says to me "thats a nice car", and I noticed the man was standing next to me that was driving it, and heard my girlfriend say that, so I purposely said "yea, maybe if they were fast", (hence why I should not be wasted in public), and he turned, looked at me, and said, "you've got something faster?" (I was riding in the girlfriends car at the time, so I dont have my lil 6r with me). And I look at him in the eye and say as un-slurred as possible, "It doesnt matter if I have a faster car, just the fact that the last two pages of your owners manual has a bus schedule in it, should tell you something." As I walk out the door.
Haha, gotta love that.

2003 Cobra weighs in at 3,700 lbs. 2002 Trans Am comes in at 3,300, and even my convertible is 3,650.

Like all mustangs, the cobra has no power until 2/3s through the rpms. All the turbo, super, whatever crap does not take effect until the higher rpms. By the time the stang gets up there, the F-Body is so far ahead, the stang needs 500-600hp to regain that lost distance, and the stangs don't have it. Not even including the drag from extra weight. All stang owners comlain about how their engines have no power in low rpms, and they know it.
Hp gets you a speeding ticket. Torque gets you down the road faster. F-Bodies win.

I have never had a problem dusting cobras of any year. The new ones, don't know, the drivers seem afraid of the throttle on those. This is with an unmodded Firehawk vert. I do admit that the first few times, I was disappointed, I expected more from the Cobras, it was just too easy.

Wow, what a fountain of missinformation!
You need to do a little more research about the 03-04 Cobra and roots or twin screw supercharged cars before you post. The 03-04 supercgcharged cars have way more low end torque than an ls1.
A bone stock 03 has a little over 350 ft lbs as low as 2500rpm, peaks at 380 around 3800, with HP anywhere from 380-400. A pullied, cai, exhaust (stock manifolds), and a tune car will have 400+ at 2500 and 470 ish at 3800 with HP anywhere from 460-480. All of these numbers are at the rear wheels.

A roots style blower produces full boost the second you mash the gas, no lag, no waiting for it to kick in. Get your facts straight.

You are close with the weight of the 03-04. Ford lists the Curb weight as 3665. With a 1/4 tank of gas a bone stock car comes in at 3600 even.

The weight that you have listed for the T/A is off by quite a bit a TRANS AM coupe weighs right at 3500 give or take 15 lbs (3300 for the sixxer), a T/A vert is right at 3600 give or take 15.

A stock ls1 car should walk a stock 96-01 Cobra.
Both cars with full bolt ons, sticky tires and gears is a different story. The edge still goes to the ls1, but from a dig, it is a much closer race now that the Cobra can get into its powerband faster (due to the lack of torque that ALL mustang guys complain about) A full bolt on and geared N/A Cobra can get into the 11s at around 112-114 (with a very good 60 ft). An ls1 F body can do about the same.

As for the ls1 car vs an 03-04 Cobra. If you have beat one (or more), you beat the driver not the car. It is very hard to find one that is bone stock (they should come stock with a smaller pulley and a better cat back), but if you do a decent driver can get one into the 12s at 110-112. Pullied and tuned, they are an easy 11 second car.

I consistantly ran 11.7s at 117-118 in mine when it was pulley only (of course it had a midpipe, cat back, cai and tune. just like a cam only ls1)

This isnt a mustang fan club. We just have respect for other cars besides Fbodies.

Welcome to Project Camaro. See Quote above.

If you happen to take a look at my sig, not only do I have two Cobras, I also have a Camaro. I used to have all of my cars in a sig pic, but I am a little proud of the white 96 right now!I have had nine other Camaros in the past and plan on adding a WS6 T/A to the "stable" in the not too distant future.
I cant stand it when people post B.S that they dont have a clue about. The same thing happens on mustang forums. You have 2v GT guys that talk about walking ls1 cars all the time. Again either they are smoking crack, or they are beating the driver, not the car.

I had a buddy with an 03 that had an exhaust and cold-air, rest was stock, pulley and all. I was a little disappointed in my car that had 465 rwhp wasn't walkin his car. It was actually a good race and I was VERY impressed with his car. Of course he spent 28k on his car opposed to the 10k I had in mine at the time, but still.

And as to the having no power down low...try google next time before you say that. A bunch of us went to the dyno and did some pulls. Just like MPE stated, they have crazy torque down low. His torque 'curve' resembled a table...crazy torque produced that low...

Wow. If I don't check up on the newbs once and a while the B.S. gets deep here. To the OP, If you were closer, I would be glad to show you how one of those slow 96 SVTs pull you like your standing still.

An ls1 is a faster car stock for stock than a 96-98 cobra, but with minor bolt-ons it is a good, and 99-01 cobras run about even stock for stock. 03-04 stock will pull hard on a stock ls1.
And the comment about being part throttle and him not being able to pull, I'm def going to have to call BS.

well I was in his SS and the cobra wasnt getting traction right away because he floored it in front of us then hooked up while my friend throttled into it and stayed on his *** gaining on him easy...it wasnt a line up run...I am not trying to start anything, and my friend has full bolt ons, Full exhaust, LS6 Intake, tune, M6 and etc. I don't think he is BSing when i was there. Like I said not trying to start anything, just telling what I saw.

As for the 03 Cobra, Josh talked to the guy, he beat the driver not the car, the guy was new to driving the Cobra and had a Trans AM WS6 before that. I think cobra's are wicked fast and I can't touch em. to me, they are really the only Stangs I like, especially the Terminators, clean and mean!

I agree a stock 99-01 Cobra is not as quick a stock LS1 F body, PERIOD.
Set up both cars with full boltons, suspension, gears, and sticky tires, all bets are off. With above mentioned mods, both cars have the potential to run mid 12s to high 11s at full weight (or close to it).
