DSM guys!
Hey guys i found a 1g for sale and it is in MINT cond inside and out. The only problem is the timing belt went and it has not been started since. They are asking 1500 for it but im going to talk them down to 1000 i hope. Is it worth it to swap a new engine in? If so do you know of any places that will do it for a good price around the GTA?

Hoookay, tell him $750 flat out because it's a 1G (hence earlier than 94) and it needs a new engine entirely. 4G63T engines are around $1,500 or so, and the swap will run you around $700 ish from a shop (or $400 from a friend of mine). This is assuming that the car was a AWD turbo. If it wasn't you could still do the swap with a FWD tranny.
If the car wasn't a turbo originally I'd find something else- it's a pain in the ***.

If the timing belt went there's a good possiblity that only the valves were damaged, so you'd only be needing a head. Give me a PM, I have a spare head and can also do the work if your interested!
