Well winter is here....
Seasons over..

Im buying a bike soon, To be ready for spring...\
About to go do my m1 right b4 spring,, Take the course, get the m2 .

Well I got 3gs max to spend on a bike,
Im looking around i see a bunch of 600cc for around that price,,
But as soon as you hit the 250 cc and still have a sporty look,, they explode in price...

I was thinking a 1996 ninja 250...
I read somewhere top speed is like 140km/h, (i think)
Really its plenty fast,, But i like having power....
Having a boke that tops out at 140km.h .. Just dont make sence...

I got a few quotes,, Its aout 7500$ for a 600CC
and about 250cc is about 2500...

but really i think personally 600cc would do me well

Is this true??? THAT BIG OF A DIFFERENCE..
im 21 ,, never touched abike b4..

7500$ a year is a lil to much for my likeing.... I cant afford that.. so 250 cc...
what is every1 elses experence with their 600cc bikes?

also.....

Insur is done monthly,,,- can i simply take it off on the wither saying i gave the bike away,,, N put it back on during season??.,,

starter bike @ 600cc u will most likely drop it before u even get to enjoy the full potential of the bike. a 250cc if u run over a pothole or wutever u might lose control a bit but still b able to handle it. if u run over on a 600cc bike ull throttle n most likely get into an accident considerin u've never had no experience wit it.

just get a ninja (not the 08+ cos they expensive) n sell it back for mayb a couple hundreds less when ur better @ it. 250cc bikes are always in demand

i was checking katanas,,
600cc insur is 2500.. vs a cbr600 7500$??

is this for real?

cbr is a sports bike, diff categories... sum insurance companies even priced the ninja 250r as a sports bike too because of the "r" @ the back

grab a 500cc katana, if you get a 250cc bike you will be bord of it in 2 months. i had an 87 ninja 250R when i was 12 and after 3 months of playing around on that (shhhhhhhh) i jumped on my uncles R6 and had no problem on it.

think smart dont buy new grab a 600 and go with state farm the insure by the cc not the class of bike sames you money.

i see many 600 katanas,, not ne 500cc katanas,
but really the katana caught my eye,,.. insurence is the same as the 250cc ninja,..(2500$). .
more power ... looks preety good,... cheaper ...

wat you guys think abt the katana?

does any 1 have a cbr na gixxer 600 simillar specs as me..

i am going to have an m2 when i try to insure .. but it will be fresh,, with in that month.
no tickets, no nothing..
dont own my own house..

As far as I know, there is no such thing as a 500 katana.

Whether a 250 or 600 is right for you is dependent on your skill level and maturity. Take the learner course before buying and it will give you some insight as to whether you "have it" or not skill-wise. The maturity matter is something only you know about yourself. A 600 sport bike like a gsxr/cbr/r6 etc aint no joke and will get your in plenty of trouble if you dont respect it.

Personally, I started on a cbr 600 when I was your age and was paying 1100 a year. That was some time ago, though.

The original Katanas appeared over the years in various sizes, the early versions came out as 550, 650, 750 and 1100cc versions. Versions were added to conform with 1000cc production bike racing rules, these bikes had round slide carburetors as opposed to the CV types and hotter camshaft timing to allow for a lack of cubic capacity. A special 1100cc variant of significance running variations on the brakes, clutch, camshafts, wire spoked wheels and slide carburetors has become something of a legend and is now very collectable and was considerably up in horsepower on the standard 1100cc model. This was the E27 model also denoted by the suffix SXZ. The 1990s saw a renewed enthusiasm for the Katana styling and 250 and 400cc versions were sold in large numbers in Japan. Even the 1100cc was reintroduced with very minor differences from the originals, even running early 80s narrow.....

the 550cc is considered a 500cc bike. same as the ducati 996 in considered in the 1000cc class for insurence. sucks but true.

The 550 Katana hasnt been available since the 80's... are you really recommending a 20+ yr old bike??? great suggestion..... can you even find ONE for sale???

on a bike how many km is considered alot....
as in my opinion a 200,000km car ,, i wouldnt buy...

what about bikes?
