get a 600 right away, getting a 250 or 500, you'll grow bored of those within a week.

Well if i bought a used one for cheap and sold it a week later for the same price for a little more i'd be happy.

If you dont feel comfortable on a 600r then dont be ashamed to learn on something smaller, you can always sell it and upsize

possible candidates: Ninja 250/500, Honda f2/f3, Yamaha fzr400/600, Suzuki gs500, katana 600. Maybe even a dual sport

Well i looked at a few Dual sports but they look kinda ugly lol.

I looked at a mint 01' ninja 250r for sale in Newmarket last night that some girl was selling with only 1800km's on it. She wanted $4500 for it but i offered her $4000 for it and she says she'll let me know if no one else buys by next week for a greater amount then she'll sell it to me. But so far no one has called her yet so hopefully everything goes well.

Its red, black and silver. is 4k a good deal??? its a little more than i wanted to spend but im sure id get my money back if i only put a few km's on it when I re-sell it.

Thanks for the help! :thumbsup

That's actually what alot of people do with the 250's, put some mileage on them until they feel comfortable and resell, usually to another beginner. Have you taken the msf course?

the cheapest sport style bike you'll ever find is the old yamaha yzf50 cc its a really funny bike and i reccommend learning on a 600 Katana clean looking bike and enough go for a beginner
