What is the best street bike to start out...

YES, I agree about the Ninja 250. I have one that brand new was just a little over 3000. It is comfortable and light, your feet are right underneath you. It easy to control and not overpowering. You can grab a nice handful of throttle and it's not going to go out from underneath of you. Of course, as you get more experience and get comfortable it will move pretty nicely on the highway, it seems to really kick in and start making more power at 7 or 8 rpms. I love my NINJA!

This question can be answered correctly only if you can tell us your height and weight. Because for someone really big a Ninja 250 would be very cramped. In this case a small cruiser like a Yamaha Virago or a Honda Shadow would be better, which you would not be really cramped.Or you could look at a standard, like a CB400 if its available where you are.
