For the YZ I would say 40-50 stock. The YZ is a motocross bike so top speed is NOT what they are built for. The TTR will have a higher top speed; maybe 60... Depends on your weight.I have a 94 Kawasaki KLX 650. With an aftermarket carb, performance camshaft, and aftermarket exhaust, it would barely do 75. It couldn't rev any higher than that. I have re-geared it (changed out the front and rear sprokets) and it will do 110 now. I geared it because I made it street legal and use it for commuting on the highway and weekend trails.

I have riding yz`s before and stock the older models i hit 78mph.. and I also driven the TTR 125 and top end with the motor reving right up would be closer to 55-60.. thats pushing it.. nice try saying that it goes faster then a YZ.. 4 stroke alot more reliable but if u want fun and speed in the 125cc section go with the YZ

ive got airbox mod an exhaust thrust thing lol, it fits in behind the spark arrister, and different sprokets, ttrs are fun no dought so are YZs there just different, personally i like 4 strokes(ttrs) more

The limiting factor on speed for a YZ 125 is the gearing given the right gearing and not to much of a fat *** rider the bike should almost break 100 mph .

any ttr is a good fun bike for around the property because there light cheap and quiet. So yes a ttr 90 will be great, my buddy had a honda crf70 from about 10 - 14. he just grew out of it and the 125 would have been to big. we both have hit small jumps, and i mean smals 1s with both bikes(ttr 125 and crf70) if you plan on going to the track at all a 50cc motocross bike(KTM maybe) would be a better option because they have suspensions built for jumping. As a rule for an 11 year old, i think the ttr90 is a perfect choice

sorry about the way late reply but regardless i don't know how well i could help cuz ive never ridden a klx 110, but i have heard great things and as he grows out of it if u wanted instead of buying a new bike the klx110 makes a great platform for a custom pit bike( a fun powerfull play bike)

you are completely wrong a yz125 is a motocross bike it is made to go fast. a ttr125 is a trail bike it is made for trails the ttr goes about 45mph and the yz125 goes about 70-80 mine goes 80 cause of all the racing parts on it
