I think I get what you're asking. If you get a motorcycle, yes, your car insurance will increase. If you're getting a bicycle, it will not affect your car insurance.

In Mass the insurance coverage for the bike, that is damage to others, must be at the same levels as the car. So if you are paying high premiums for the car because of a bad driving record, you will also have high premiums for the bike.Be goodRichard

I think that you are saying that your driving record might be less than stellar and will that also affect your bike insurance?? The answer is YES, ABSOLUTELY - insurance companies network extensively and honey, bunny, your driving information is only a mouse click away. As far as insurance companies go, a bad driver (cager) will also be a worse risk as a rider and they will charge you accordingly for the privilege.

Yes. A driving record is a driving record. No matter what you drive, if your driving record is less than perfect, you are a higher insurance risk. If you had high car insurance rates because of your driving record, your motorcycle insurance rates will be high as well.

Yes, your driving record spans ALL vehicles you drive, including motorcycles. It is based on your ability to safely operate a vehicle, not the vehicle itself. That being said, if you have already shown that you are not a responsible driver, the insurance on a vehicle that is much faster with a higher fatality rate will be sky high for you Expect premiums in the thousands for an under-25 male on a sportbike, and if your record is bad you might not be able to get insurance at all.
