I recently got a ticket for doing 20 over and was wondering what my insurance will do in this situation? I heard anything over 15 will cause rates to go up, if thats true how much will it go up by?

insurance companies do not care what speed you're convicted at (unless it's the new 50 km/h over law which creates a "street racing" conviction). even when a speeding ticket carries no points, it may still raise your rates.

From what I've heard, as long as you dont loose any points you should be ok. The first few tickets you should be ok. But just fight it and aim for loosing now points. But if you start getting too many your insurance company will raise you rates. Im not exactly sure how much it would go up by though.

No matter what spped you are going your insurance rates will go up if you are convicted of speeding. Kinda suck but if you are locked in for a year it won't raise it until next year or if you get into an accident and they have to re calculate your rate
