Will the ticket higher my insurance?

I got a ticket last year for doing 31 over in a 50 (with my car). It was $240 which I paid off and I've renewed my insurance a couple months ago but nothing changed (car insurance). Does this mean that my insurance doesn't know about the ticket? When I get my motorcycle insurance should I tell them I got the ticket? Will it affect me a lot or not since it is my first ticket? What do I do???

as far as i know the bikes insurance rate this year didnt go up but for more experience rider rates went down as for ur tickets the insurance company will know about ur tickets even though if u dont tell them they will pull ur driving record from the transportation ministry

From what I heard for most insurance companies (not all),

- They do a history (MTO) check when you get the insurance and sometimes when it comes up for renewal. If you already bought the policy then they will most likely not check again for tickets.

- Unless you do something real bad the insurance company has to pull the file, MTO does not alert your company.

- technically you should tell the insurance company but what stops you for not telling them? (You can say you're fighting it and not guilty)

- Some insurance companies forgive the first ticket

- all tickets under 50km/hr over are considered the same in insurance minds

If you tell your insurance company there is a serious possibility your rates will skyrocket. If you don't tell them then enjoy the ride and don't switch companies anytime soon.

I talked to an insurance broker today, he said almost all insurance companies let the first ticket fly as long as it's not serious...so I'm good to go...tnx for the info.
