Replacing Maxima belts

I tried replacing the belts in my 2003 Maxima, ran into a few difficulties and am looking for some insight. There are two belts, one long and one short, tucked down the passenger side of the engine. The long one connects the idler, alternator and a couple other things; the short one only connects two components. After removing the wheel and cover behind it, I was able to loosen the idler wheel and remove the long belt with little trouble. I could not figure out how to loosen the short belt though. I saw a couple bolts which I believe to be associated with it but could barely access them, let alone turn them.

Does anyone have experience with this or would it be best left for a mechanic?
