Turbo the KA or swap it?

Just as the title says. Should I throw a turbo on my KA or swap it for an RB20DET, SR20DET, or CA18DET?

RB20 might be a tight squeeze. CA18 wont satisfy you. SR20 is the easiest, and has the most potential for ur car

how much power you looking to push????? RB 20 is good but really tight squeeze, you almost literally need to shoe horn it in. sr is your best bet you can have a 400hp RELIABLE motor with that.

agreed that the sr is probably the best bet. i personally like the sr because its easy to work on and aftermarket support is very good. I would definately choose a K over an sr though due to the torque outcomes.

Where do you get your crack from? I want IN!!

remember, the KA didnt come turbo from the factory, so if you do turbo it, it will decrease the life and reliablility of the KA. But on the other hand, the SR comes turbo, and is the most reliable turbo engine out there....so SR is the best way to go...most parts available in Toronto too etc....(compared to CA and RB)

duffrin and st clair ask for a guy named mike lol

i meant realiable to a certain extent lol more reliable then others

you would be leaning more towards the sr, but you should understand the engines boundaries so you know far you can go with each so you can reach your final goals. basically once you have a taste for speed you will want more and if the engine limits you, before having to build or something along those lines you best have made the best engine choice from the begining.

MrStokic 05-07-2007 07:18 PM

the sr20's are nice, my buddy has it in his 240, its been running solid so far and he says he cant go back to non turbo!

sick96gst 07-24-2007 05:07 PM

turbo the ka, more torque, or go rb26, y follow everyone else?

Ragnar 08-10-2007 04:24 PM

Personally I'd spend the extra cash and go RB26DETT.
