What can I do mechanically to increase the MPG in my Honda Passport?

I get OK mileage, but what are some things a mechanic can do to help increase this?

All you have to do is accelerate slowly and keep the car in a high gear and keep engine RPM's as low as possible and you can raise your average mpg by 10 or so.

Replace air filter and fuel filter at proper intervals.

Make sure your tiers are properly inflated.

Tune-up if needed (plugs, wires, belts hoses).

Make sure transmission is shifting properly if not have it serviced.
