Did you skip out at the Subway stop?
You really should try the afternoon portion. The morning used to be the highlight of the route, but since '04 the afternoon portion really grabs your attention - and remember to bring your camera and vidcam. The route is now more user-friendly than in years past, and the morning is sort of the "warm-up" for the twisty segments.

I should have mentioned that in place of ice chests, I did use some of those 60 Qt storage tubs for like $6 at kmart or wherever, and they worked fine.
I'll be willing to bet your cups of pink lemonade move faster than your most popular soda (usually Mt Dew), and stay away from diet sodas/drinks if you can. The powered Country Time on sale makes 3 gallons for about $3.

yea my dad and i actually took off and headed home after the long wait for Firestorm to get outa the ditch. we had other things going on later that day and the cruise just kept heading further away from our home.lol

i beleive you might have been the one to give my dad the directions to the highway, possibly....?lol either way, im staying the whole time next cruise im on. they are a blast.

I think that was me. The Subway is actually farther away from your home than the ending point, but the time was best for you. Also, the afternoon route crosses over major highways/expressways 7 times, so those are also easy departure points if time becomes an issue.

Thank you for the idea's. I hate lemonade so I never would have thought of that. I love the idea since it'll save me a good amount of money.

Lemonade is one thing. PINK Lemonade is a whole different ballgame. When you see a can of Country Time PINK Lemonade sometime, just try it.
The regular lemonade had plenty left at the BBQ. I loaded up on Pink Lemonade because I wanted to have a bunch to take home. I ended up with 2 cans, and had to freeze my arm off to dig them out of the bottom of the tub.
Or try it at the movie theater. There are also some very tasty punches and fruit combination drinks in gallon jugs that work well on hot days.
The key thing is, if you get somebody to run the food/beverage things on auto-pilot, that's more that you don't have to worry about, but keeps show participants happy.
Keep in mind that plastic/styrofaom cups will be used around the food area a lot, but for wandering around between cars, maybe have lids available to reduce spillage/splatter, and some will prefer cans for this reason, and because they have can cozies or whatever.

I'm getting really frustraded(sp) with the whole thing. I really want to everything going but I feel like I keep getting blown off. The main place I wanted to rent is really getting on my nerves. I sent them an email and they said they would be happy to rent the lot out to me. She gave me a phone number so I called it and left a message. She never called me back. So I called the next week and she didn't pick up. At least this time she called me back. She said she'll have to talk with her GM to get all the details ironed out and that she'd call me back on that Friday. You guessed it, no call. I shoot her an email and she doesn't reply until Saturday saying she'll let me know by the end of the day via email. I get nothing from her, so I shoot her another email and she says she's sorry it's taken so long but she'll let me know by the end of the day. That was a week ago and I haven't heard back.
Every place I'm trying to rent is blowing me off. Sometimes I hate being young and not taken seriously. I'm getting to the point of saying screw it but I REALLY don't want to do that. I just want someone to let me rent their lot.

Argh.

that sucks man. stay persistent but very proper and it will come through. i know everyone really appreciates what your doing here and in the end it WILL be worth the work. the only thing i can offer you besides my help is the use of my works parking lot on a sunday however its not very large, but i gurantee we could use it if it falls through. somewhat of an attraction too at a tire store but the monstrous parking lot would be very sweet. keep on em man, let us know if ya need any help. good luck and dont let the not so bright people bother you.lol. we all know theres enough of them around to start a new planet.
