However, I would like to meet them before hand, and lay out some rules. I don't want my mint GTI wrecked, and I'm sure no one else wants to wreck. I know I'd love to take on Blown MX5 at Mosport. Don't know or care which of us would take it, but we'd have fun.

Yeah I was really wanting to hit that track last summer but it was not finished.

ok, so i would asume that most of everyone here got to the autoshow this year, I was there yesterday and there was a booth for Dunnville raceway. its south of hamilton somewhere and its an old airport and they can change up the road coarse all the time. its only $100 for laping days, which out of the tracks around is pretty cheap.
heres the info for everyone.

It isn't all that bad but I agree about the brakes, allmost no time to cool down the brakes on that track and they end up taking a beating.
Also Mosport GP is not as hard as I thought it would be I took a rented Mustang there for a Mustang lapping day and was surprised(street tires, stock everything) mind you it could only get 180 up the back straight well into the braking zone. The DDT is a good track to learn on but after that it can get boring with no room to pass you end up with perades forming. Shannonville I would say is great track to have anyone at I have done a load of lapping days and evening there and well thats where I would say to go(farly easy on the car and being flate and open(just like TMP and dunville) your able to see ahead for any troubles. TMP track is supposed to be open this year I guess they finally did something right(maybe making the berms higher) the track isn't to bad, I remember the first year they opened the track I went on a day ot was going to rain and they didn't have any drainage so a couple of the corners filled up really good(Shannonville will do the same thing with a good rain).
There are alot of other groups that host lapping days and most are happy to have a couple more people on the track, beside most people only last a couple laps before they come in.
Oh and if this does work out and it doesn't interfer with any of my racing I would like to come.

well whatever track it'd always be fun... mosport maybe a good challenge, but for most of us with slower cars it'd not be too much fun (last time i did it, the guys running m3s are running about 230 at the back, whereas i was tops doin 190)
i'd love to try dunnville with my new brakes... shannonville'd be a nice welcome track because as you all know, we dont know how each other lap, it'd be nice to get to know each other before we seriously get into racing each other!
but as always...safety will take prescedence

anyone think of a pre-track day meet? just for the confirmed racers that are going to meet eachother and become more comfortable with whats going on so that come track day, people can have fun rather than start hating on eachother......just a thought...
