Default User will become famous soon enough
sounds interesting - not for pink slips though - nor is it fastest car.
Pure bracket racing...which is ideal for the "sandbaggers"

*IMPORTANT FAQ SHEET FOR ARMDROP*
PLEASE NOTE CHANGES IN RED

Do I need to pre-register?
o Yes, no racer entries will be taken at the gate. Only spectators will be allowed to come in as general admission and/or camping.

The base time set is 11.3. Will it be changed?
o No. It has been set by TMP, and will remain for this event. Keep in mind, the 11.3 is only a minimum bump for signing up for the event. The field of 256 which is picked for the main event Saturday, may very well have a faster ‘bump spot’ than 11.3.

What time does event start?
o Gates open for Tech Friday morning at 9am. Qualifying runs will start soon after, based on the number of cars competing. Definite time, and number of time runs will be posted closer to the event date.

How are the ‘256’ cars picked?
o The ‘256’ will be picked by TMP in such a way that the event will be entertaining.
NEW – There will now be 2 classes picked, a faster class and a slower class, which together will add up to 256. Each class will run independent from the other until a final car remains in each group. The remaining 2 will then race a ‘best 2 of 3’ for the $10,000.
All attempts will be made to keep the entries ET’s in each group as close as possible, but we reserve the right to allow a few ‘different or unique’ entries in the program to keep things interesting.

What types of vehicles are allowed?
o Anything, as long as it passes tech, and TMP considers it safe to run the vehicles in a ‘side by side’ format as there is only one class.

How do we stage our vehicles?
o Vehicles will be staged by the regular stage light on the ‘Christmas Tree’. All other bulbs in the tree will be non-functional. Vehicles are expected to stage quick, there will be no ‘slow bumping in’ to the lights. Any staging delay deemed to be excessive by Rich, may be grounds for disqualification on the spot.

Is ‘DEEP’ staging allowed?
o Yes

Do we get time slips?
o Friday qualifying will be done as a regular time trial day, with full timing and .400 pro-tree. Time slips will be given out on Friday only. For Saturday’s event, there will be no tree, no time slips; and you will not be told your time. You will only be notified if you have won or lost. (win lights will be active) Saturday’s event will be exclusively done by Rich Christensen’s arm drop.

When is the ‘Drivers Meeting’?
o Drivers Meeting is Saturday morning at 9am SHARP. If you have qualified and you miss the meeting….You will be disqualified.

How does the ‘Death Cards’ work? When is it shown?
o The ‘Death Card’ ET will be shown after both competitors have pre-staged their vehicles. The ET will be the same for both cars, and there will be 12 different ET’s, all in the range of ½ second slower than the slowest car in the ‘picked field’. (eg. If the slowest car in the groups ‘picked field’ is 10.50, the 12 cards will vary between 10.50 and 11.00et) ‘Arm Drop Live’ has now replaced the ‘Death Card’ with an electronic board, similar to a dial in board, just behind the Christmas tree.
o There will be 12 different numbers for each group.

How does the Race work?
o Both entries, after they have pre-staged, will be shown an ET which both are capable of running. Rich will then start the cars via his patented ‘Arm Drop’ and both cars will race, with the winner being the car to cross the finish line first, without going faster than the posted ‘Death Card’ ET…
o Main event will begin at 2pm Saturday.

Can I set-up a display on the Mid-way?
o Yes, we are hoping to load the Mid-way with vendors, sponsors, just about anything unique to bring more excitement to our event. Please contact the TMP Head Office (1-416-291-4561) to have your space reserved and content approved. Cost for a 10X10 display area is $100 + includes 2 weekend event passes.

Can I stay and run Friday Night event?
o Yes. For $20 you can go in the tower and buy a tech card to run in our regular Friday night event. Full timing will be in place with time slips.

Will there be any ‘Show Cars’?
o Lou Pereira’s ‘Terminator” Jet Dragster will be there.

Will there be any other entertainment?
o Friday night after it gets dark, there will be a band in the campground for any competitors or spectators who are staying the night.

Can I stay Saturday Night too?
o Yes, but only if you have purchased a weekend spectator or race pass. You can also race on Sunday if you like. All you need to do is buy a tech card at the office.

It's not PINKS, although Rich Christensen is the same host. Armdrop Live is a completely different program with different rules.

I was thinking of signing up but after realizing that the majority of the cars that will be going are stalled auto v8's that run dead consistent every time, I figured I would have no chance.

but being consistent is not what its about. all cars must run faster the 11:30, right after you stage, there will be a display that will be at least 1/2 second slower then the slowest guy. so it could be like 12.50, then rich will drop his arms and you go. You have to run close to that time with out going faster then the time displayed.

Damn, too bad the car is not into the 11's yet. Too bad I don't want to make the stang a racer yet. Maybe next year. And my project car has atleast 1 year to go before its even ready to see a track. I will bring the stang out though for a pass or 2 for ***** and giggles though.Should be good for 15 sec pass.
