officer dropped the charges to 100 in an 80 and It should have been 123 in an 80 thats what he clocked me at.

fine is $95 and 3 points

Should I fight it or just pay it and get on with life, I cant really afford my insurance to raise that much any ideas how much it will raise?

If you're on a full G license, most insurance companies give you your first two minor tickets free before they start imposing surcharges. If on a G1, usually you get one free ticket. If you have an at-fault accident in there, that usually counts as one ticket.

As long as your record is clear so far, you're not lloking at any rate increase for this one. As long as you don't make a habit of getting tickets, you shouldn;t have to worry about rate increases in futures other than oncrease related to inflation, different car, etc.

I currently have a g2 license but my G booked in less than a month, Yeah I have a clean driving record up until this one, no at fault accidents or anything.

One, they don't "take points off in court". The courts do not assign points at all - all they do is convict you and register the conviction with the MTO. The MTO assigns points based on what you wre convicted for.

Two, points don't really matter one little bit unless you have decided to make a career of amassing demerit points. Too many points (15) and you lose your license for a while, but except for the terminally stupid, it takes a lot of effort to get up to that number of points.

The big hit for most people is number of convictions, points or not, in a three year period. Insurance companies count convictions, not points. They'll let you have one or two free, but any more and you may get hit with surcharges. But points to an insirance company means nothing.

Wrong. A JP cannot drop demerit points in court because the JP does not assign demerit points at all. The JP just convicts (or not) and levies a fine on conviction. The only thing a JP may or may not do is lower the speed for which you are convicted, and/or lower the fine.

Demerits get handled later by the Ministry, and a JP has no say in whether demerits are or are not applied.

You can try and fight the ticket, but if the cop wants to he can just mention what he pulled you over for and raise it back up, if he feels you wasted his time. Just remember when a cop is in court doesnt always mean he is actually working that day, it could be one of his reagular days off, and you just happened to say lets go to court. My best friends brother is a cop, i get all the inside info on this crap.
