Civic that got pulled over on markham rd last night
I was going southbound on markham road last night at about 11:30pm in the camaro, and a grey EJ civic hatch with coffee can muffler comes whizzing by me. At hwy 7, markham road merges into a single lane and the right lane is reserved for those wishing to turn onto Hwy 7. The dude in the civic doenst feel like waiting behind the 3 cars that were there so he decides he is going to over take everyone on the right lane. Im thinking.. whats your hurry? He barely misses getting hit by a truck making a left hand turn on the other side (who had an advance green) and its one of those moments where you just wish a cop was around. Lo and behold, an undercover cruiser screams past me on the oncoming lane 15 seconds later and nails the civic at 407. I wonder what kind of ticket he ended up getting... anyone know this guy?
You guys never like to give anybody the benefit of the doubt, maybe it was an emergency? It has happened to lots of people I know that might seem to be driving in a hurry, might seem dangerious to other people, but what if it was a real emergency? I seen a couple times cops doing some stupid manouvers and end up hitting other cars. Its simply better to give everybody the benefit. You dont know the situation, and seems like the only reason your pissed is that he passed you. Im not going to engage in a argument with you, I wont respond to your reply if you decide to do so, I just wanted to give my opinion.
Well.. I can agree on the benefit of the doubt theory..
However, I travel down that stretch in my daily commute and see at least 2 cars doing that each time I"m passing that area. (southbound on markham and 7 )
Northbound is iffy.. people know that it's usually turns into one lane ( other lane usually has cars parked ) So they race up the right lane and cut everyone off holding everyone behind on Markham

For too many people, emergency means "I'm late for class or work", "I'm late for supper", "I'm going to miss thestart of the movie", "I'm out of smokes", "traffic is too slow and I've been stiuck in it for too long already".
And for others it simply means "**** on it, I don't want to wait".
Gldwnger hit nail on the head exactly. Im sorry, but I gave my opinion based on what I saw; Some guy in a hurry who doesnt want to wait pulls dangerous maneuver to get ahead of everyone else. If its such an emergency that would warrant driving in this manner, why not call 911? Which emergency does this guy have to attend to that the the cops/fireman/medic cant handle?
As for being pissed at being passed - hardly the case.
