Its not a moving violation, will not affect your insurance. Its just a tax revenue fine!

i got a ticket cause my screws came loose and i had no tools with me coming from hamilton so i had to take off the plate from the bumper but go to court and plead guilty with an explanation and they will either lessen the fine or drop all charges. BTW i got mine dropped but i still had the front plate visable on the bumper but the rear was in my back window. GoodLuck!

Most insurance companies will allow one minor ticket (within 3 years). I had one speeding ticket and insurance didn't go up. 1-1/2 years later, I got a "fail to show insurance slip" (non-moving violation). My insurance DOUBLED! Different companies have different policies, so I wouldn't believe that insurers ignore non-moving violations. In my experience, it's the NUMBER of tickets that matters.

last august i got a speeding ticket and failure to show insurance ticket, and i got it dropped to a minor ticket, and got the insurance ticket removed.

so if i dont fight this ticket, will my insurance rates go up?

i beleive insurance counts all hat stuff its a minor offence i think they classify it as

Unfortunately, at least here in Durham, cops are now sent on work time. So the old hope he don't show rules doesn't apply much.

Because each company has their own rules, you should just call your agent and ask him.

Got that ticket from a female cop, she was definatly feeling high and mighty. I told her it was there because it fell off earlier in the day, went to get a court date, currently waiting for it. Going to bring pic with it mounted whenever that court date is, and hopefully it gets thrown out.

This ticket a MINOR one and Will not affect ur insurance all. ( u can call ur insurance company and confirm .. but im 99% sure of this.)

You can easily fight this ticket and win ... LIKE another member suggested go to a mechanic and tell him to write u up a bill for a front licence mounting kit or something along those lines.

or u can even come up with other believable excuses .. The screws holding the plate broke ( rusted over winter ) and the license plate was hanging by 1 screw .. so instead of it dangling on the highway u decided ( for safety purposes) to keep it inside the car ( still clearly visible ) until u got it to a mechanics shop.

Fight it for sure , put it in court.

I got the same issue with my car, it's from BC and it doesn't have a license plate bracket. Unfortunately, I'm hoping to find one soon cause I drove the car with the license plate in the window.

In any case it is illegal to drive with no plate out front, and I'm certain that it will not effect your insurance. Nevertheless, take it to court, you have nothing to lose, you may save yourself the 110 bucks.
