Guess I'm lucky.

$190 per month for 2 vehicles (05 Saturn and 03 Olds)

with Scottish & York Insurance.

But I got the age thing of being 33yrs old, I live in a less built up area (which is classed different than GTR for insurance rates), no tickets (never) and one accident (1990), wife had 3 tickets and cleared off 2 yrs ago and no accidents.

Lowering costs of insurance:

DRIVER
- over 25
- no tickets within 3 years
- no accidents within 5 years
- location living

VEHICLE
- star rating of vehicle purchased
- 4 doors are cheaper than 2 doors
- 2 wheel drive is cheaper than 4 wheel drive
- older the vehicle the cheaper

Don't forget the fact that age, and overall driving experience has something to do with insurance as well. At 25 you get an extra 5% knocked off. As for me I pay about $400/mth after being a primary driver on my car for 3 years, when I first started out I was paying about $500/mth at $6,000/yr. $100 in savings after that long is BS, considering how much those guys made last year (300% increase in profit, not revenues!) and I have yet to see the government or RBC Insurance step in. DEATH TO ALL INSURANCE ADJUSTERS!!!. For the time being I guess I still have to wait another 4 years for that 5% bit.

BTW, I pay $230 a month on a '98 Ford Contour V6. I have one ticket, no points or accidents, and a G-licence.
