Need advice on what to say and do in court on speeding ticket

Hey guys,

I have a court day this week and as it inches closer i'm getting nervous on what to say. I was doing 60 in a 40 in a school zone in my neighborhood. The officer reduced it to a 50 in a 40 so its a $40 fine.

In my opinion I think the charge is unfair because I'm going up a small hill and I was just coasting along with the traffic when he caught me. Technically I am guilty so what do I do when i'm in court and he shows up? Should i plead guilty and asked for a reduced fee because i'm a student or try to argue my point that I was going with the speed of traffic around me.

Any other ideas or insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

yup if it goes to trial, and the cop wins, you'll be done with 60 in 40 and you'll get points with it. Court can even impose a more stricter penality than what is ordinarily offered with tickets (up to 500 I believe)

10 over = no points, just fine.

It's up to you what you want to do...
