Im actually in the process of becoming a cop ...they have approximately a year to issue you a court date for a fair trial anything over that and it will probably get thrown out..chances are you will receive a notification in the mail that can take up to 6 -7 months to get

got my ticket back in august get my court date in january went to court this july and the freaking cop and the lady i rear ended showed up. like give me a break. no harm done and i was nice about everything everythign was taken care of in the end. do the guy a favour if the person who hits you takes care of everything and doesnt give you a hard time. don't show up to court if he gets a ticket.

Don't stress on it...the longer it takes for you to get a date, the more likely it is that they will throw it out.
Its in your rights to be given a "fair and speedy" trial. If it takes over a year to get a date for small fine.....then thats not really speedy now is it?
