Need Help

hey everyone, I gotten my license suspended for 2 months because I had over 9 demerit points with a G2.
Now I drove my car with the suspended license one night and somehow managed to hot a car. I fled the scene because to be honest I didn't know I hit it at first. What happened was I was following a friend and he quickly changed lanes because the car infront of him was goin Extremly slow (liek 30km/h in a 50km/h). So I couldn't stop in time so I swerved to the right up a driveway and over the sidewalk. I made it back onto the road, however there was a parked camaro on teh driveway that was very low near the sidewalk and I guess I hit it. I didn't know at the time I hit it as I didn't feel it, all I felt was hitting the curb. So I took off since I thought I made it through clear. Anways later that night the cops come over and turns out I did hit the camaro and someoen got my plates. Anways I was charged with: Dangerous Driving, Failure to report an accident, and Driving with suspened license.
What can i do???
I take full responsibility for driving with the suspended license, however I do not think I deserved to get Dangerous driving! All I did was swerve to the right to avoid rear ending someone. The path was clear except the camaro which I didn't see at the time as it was on another driveway. (I pretty much went up a driveway thru the sidewalk). I saw that the path was clear so I knew I wasn't goin to hit anyone. Any help?!?!?!?

Agreed. Might as well get one of those nice aluminum ones too, because you'll probably be riding it for a while. I think we'll all be a lot safer because of it.

buddy you're screwed... I'm sorry but my best advice is go hook up with 'x-copper' or 'points' and they might get you off something. But unfortunately there's not a lot else to do.

i really hope this story is fake, because if it isn't than people like you shouldn't even have a license in the first place

let's see, first, you claim you couldn't stop in time before hitting a car you say was going 30km/h (after your friend swerves out of the way). and how fast were YOU going? either you have a super-slow reaction time or most likely you were going way more than 60km/h in a 50 zone.

i can picture it now, you and this friend of yours were swerving in and out dangerously in a residential area as you were following him and don't give me this bull about how you had to keep the same speed as your friend, you can follow someone without being on their tail all the time and within a safe distance. if not, than you and your friend WERE driving recklessly through a residential area.

second, you claim you couldn't feel hitting the camero. either you're totally oblivious to your surroundings while in a car or your just totally oblivious period, two traits which don't bold well for being on the road.

and you've had 9 demerit points taken off prior to this incident? buddy, i don't even want to know what those previous convictions were considering this story

i don't really want to flame you further, partially because i was 19 once and did some stupid things too, but at the same time, it wasn't as stupid as what you did and now that i'm a bit older (and a bit more matured) when i see stupid young drivers like you trying to weasle their way out of trouble they caused themselves, i'd rather see you have your license revoked for a long long time as opposed to helping you find ways to potentially kill another driver or innocent bystander the next time you're behind the wheel

good luck

You don't understand why you should be charged with dangerous driving?? You obviously dont understand what dangerous driving is. Look up section 249(1) of the Criminal Code, thats right its a Criminal offence! I believe the section begins by saying something to the effect of "operating a motor vehicle in a manner that is dangerous to the public".

From what you have described I would say the officer was absolutely correct in charging you. Think about it. Your right behind a buddy when he changes lanes, and you cant stop to avoid the car in front of him! Probably way too fast and definitely way too close. But lets just forget about that for a moment. You decide that you need to pass this slow moving vehicle. Instead of passing him on the left (remember you cant pass on the right unless the vehicle being overtaken is stopping or turning) you leave the roadway and pass him on the sidewalk! Your actions just put that driver in danger.

An earlier post suggested that you were probably on your buddys bumper while the two of you zig-zaged between and passed other traffic. Perhaps the witnesses were the drivers of these other cars. Whoever they were, they were so close that they were able to read your licence plate. So, they too were in danger!

Since one of the offences your charged with is criminal you will be sent to criminal court. This means that your trial will be heard by a Judge, not a Justice of the Peace. Don't try to hire Points, or ex-copper they can not represent you in Criminal Court. You need a lawyer!

Oh and by the way you can be sent to jail for up to six months just on the charge of driving while suspended (see for yourself section 53 HTA)! Then throw on top of that the dangerous drive charge with a maximum jail sentence of 5 years. Dont waste your money on buying that bike, you wont be able to ride it in jail.

Listen to me very well buddy, get a lawyer, half the ****** in this section are working with the cops so they will do anything to get you to feel bad and/or admit to guilt in the trial.

for example blacky here...

A "street racer" born September 1, 1966 posts only in the tickets section? wait.... something kinda of fishy here ... knows the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act inside out as well as other charters....

hmm....

"Police have 3 years to charge someone under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. The officer probably kept your old insurance card for evidence"

"the points are non-negotiable, even a JP can not reduce points. But they can ammend a charge, in this case perhaps to "follow too close""

"I think most people would just pay it. But since your asking I have to wonder if you have had other speeding tickets."

"see for yourself section 53 HTA"

oh ? guess what!!!!! Hes a detective or prosecutor(unlikly a cop because they usually dont bother learning the tickets they write out, prosecutors do that job for them).

now this is what you do:

a) go to a moderator and tell him to erase this thread(maybe too late, pigs can use online forums as evidence now)
b) call a lawyer
c) good ing luck, dont admit to anything, always remember not to post anything in this section.
