No Insurance!!!!
#16
Well, I have never been is such situations before I dont know what to do, I dont live here with my parents and that I sont own a Audi TT, it was an 92 dx. Are they gonna suspend my liesence ??? and it was belairdirect btw. They didnt send the tem slips to me from the day you apply it takes 3 weeks for you to get the tem slips, and why the hell did ministry let me have 10 day permit with out asking for my insurance, If I knew it was such a big deal ofcourse I wudnt have taken such steps. Any thing else I sud know ????? is my insurance gonna go up thats my first ever incidence??? your help is greatly aprecaited ..
I work for SF.... I could print a Temp Slip in 3 seconds. Makes no sense why they told you it would take 3 weeks for a temp slip. 3weeks to me sounds like the actully copy of the Liability Slip not the temp slip!
Another thing, If you were given insurance and had to wait 3 weeks your insurance company bounded you on that day regardless of temp slip..
What should happen according to what I have read. Is that you should have this ticket thrown out and be given the ticket fail to show insurance slip

You don't want a cheap lawyer cause they will often be crap. You don't really even need a lawyer. Just get legal aid. Usually its cheap. You pay less than 10 bcusk for a half hour consultation on the phone. They lawyers will make sure you are in the right direction.
try Legal Aid Ontario.

go back to insurance company and tell them what happened and that you want the slip to save your ***. You should have a receipt for when you paid this..and if you still have your licence card..It doesn't look like they are taking it..if you get charged I think they will take it though. Brother got caught in a Monte Carlo w/ plates from his Mustang, expired stickers, no insurance, car still in last guys name and got 2500.00 and they took his lic until he paid it off..

You don't need a lawyer. You don't need anything fancy at all. This is a simple case that will last no more then 5 mins if you are telling us the truth here. If you said you had insurance and it was 3 weeks later when yuo started driving, then you have a record of this. Just take your insurance policy into court. It will have the date on it when you were first insured. If it is dated prior to the date of the ticket, then it will be thrown out. Or at the most, it will be lowered to fail to show insurance. Its just a $110 ticket. a small mark on your record, but better then a no insurance rap.
