Red Light Cameras

hey i passed through an intersection with a yellow light that turned red as i was almost completely through it... my buddy noticed the red light camera

first of all i know that most likely im clear cuz ive read up a little bit about when the cam starts snapping pics... but my question is if i were to recieive a ticket, obviously it goes to the owner of the car, not necessarily the driver...
I know the ticket involves a fine with no demerit points, BUT will that ticket show up on the owners driver abstract as he may have not been the driver.

Use this defence. The ruling was from a judge, not a JP.

as far as I know, its just the fine, because they can't identify the driver they can't place anything on anyone's abstract.

No driver's licence number is associated to the ticket, therefore it can not be placed on the driver's history.

What would happen is the fine is associated to the vehicle and the owner, so that the fine would be registered against the licence plate of the vehicle. When the owner goes to renew the licence plate, the fine must have already been paid or the owner will not be able to receive the validation sticker for the vehicle. Thus, this is the same as any parking ticket.

this is true , it does not show up on ur driving record b/c they can't prove the identity of the driver, therefore it does not affect your insurance and there are no points involved .

i bet you don't even get a ticket...usually those sensors are for when an emergency vehicles strobe light flashes so it changes the light to green for any other fire truck or cop car or ambulance that is coming as well
so you gotta relax man thers a lot more problems that should be in ur life then that i kno ther is for me

now this is a very smart and fair way of punishing offences . i'm surprised really , that they actually used the euro model for this .. but very pleasantly surprised

umm sensors...?? the red light camera is an actual camera that starts snapping pics when the light turns red. Theres no reason emergency vehicles need a camera, but yes they do use the strobes to change the light. And you do get the ticket cuz i know ppl who have gotten caught goin through a red light by the camera.

Well if it's true what he's saying and was through the intersection when it was YELLOW, then he won't get a ticket.. because red light cameras take TWO pictures... one at the beginning of the light just after the line, and one for the middle of the intersection to see if the car actually went through the intersection or just crossed the line while trying to stop.

So either someone else behind you is the person that triggered the unit, and you won't be on the first pic and only one the second... if no one else was behind you, then you're on both pictures, and the light was red when u crossed the intersection not yellow like you thought it was.

Plain and simple...

And I so wish that they made the red light camera take picture from the front of the cars like in europe so they would catch the drivers face. Schmucks that run yellows and reds should be fined up the *** and with points to follow... Running reds is worse the speeding IMO... and running yellows are just an excuse... Cars today can stop no problem, so there shouldn't be an issue... It's just lazy ers that don't want to wait 3 mins for a light.
