We got pulled over in georgia and we were givin the option to pay it on the spot or go to jail and wait for someone to pay for us. so if you can get away without paying then just make sure you dont get pinched by pigs in that state again.

NY Traffic Lawyer answer to question.

To any Canadian residents with a US traffic ticket, we recommend answering the ticket. Even if you are pleading guilty, answer it guilty and pay the fine. If you fail to answer, your privilege to drive in that state will almost always be suspended and, if you are caught driving in that state (even years later), you could be committing a crime. In New York, it is a crime to drive when you know or should know that your license is suspended and yo can be arrested for this charge.

If you are from Ontario or Quebec, you almost always want to plead not guilty to a New York State traffic ticket. A conviction in New York will transfer to your Quebec or Ontario driver license and points will be assessed as if the ticket was issued in Quebec or Ontario.

You should retain a New York traffic lawyer who is familiar with the demerit systems in Ontario and Quebec, and who can try and avoid or minimize points being added to your Canadian driver license. If you drive in New York State regularly, then the strategy employed by your NY traffic attorney may be different, however.

Your pretty unlucky if you get one, I didnt see a single cop on my way to florida once I hit NY. There were tons of speed limit signs, that posted your speed right above (they got fun after you realized there wasnt a cop in sight). Tons of empty cop cars, but no cops inside, just a visual deterrent. It didn't seem to be just me driving fast, I often was in groups of about 4-5 cars where we could hog the fast lane doing about 90-110mph. I watched the plates and there were many instate people doing this.

I'll admit I hit a minor snag in georgia or south carolina, cant remember exactly which, but the palm trees hadnt been around too long. Anyways this black malibu is tailing me hard, yea I didnt like it and i touched the brakes just hard enough to get the lights going but not hard enough to affect the speed much. Then I drop it from 5th to the top of the 3rd, quick shift into 4th, hit the top of 4th (180km/h or about 112mph i think) shift to 5th and look back.... cherries from malibu. I pull over to the right of 2 lanes, he pulls up beside me, were doing about 85mph now, he puts his window down, so I do the same. Hes screamin at me, sayin what were thinkin, I just said "sorry, you were tailin me hard I thought it was just some ." he says "slow the **** down" and I do, he drives off at about the same pace i was doing. He had no intrest at all in giving me a ticket, that here would equal the loss of my license and car. then again he was wearing a suit and probably thought of himself as being way above traffic incidents.
