hey i have a 3.4 also and i fighted the overheating problem for a while. it took my girlfriends dad and i changing the intake gasket. and then it took a local corvette specialist to change the timing cover gasket and a new fuel pump, since all of that happened i haven't had a problem since.

Update
Well... I took my car out last night ran it.. seemed ok.. got up to 230.. then it would drop down to 210.. not a problem for about 50 miles.. Went to school today.. again no problem.. came home.. same thing.. then I had to give my roomate a ride to work and bam... right up to 260.. i could hear the antifreeze boiling in there ... i cant figure it out...

Nope.. no smoke... water pump should be good?.. i had it replaced two summers ago when this problem started... But I found a motor here in the area with 16k for $1000.. i dont think thats too bad of a deal.. and im in Duluth MN
