I was going to buy sheet metal and duplicate the stamping for mine, instead I just cut the sections i needed out of a scrap car that just happened to be rust free where I needed.

OK floor wasn't as bad as I thought, just had to cut out this area. Also, a small section on the passenger side. Anyone for a functional hood scoop? I'll have pic of the airbox, when I get it done.

Actually you're not far off with the ricer hood scoop. It's from an 84 Nissan 300z turbo. 6 psi car, with no IC. Now that's almost rice. I'm not keeping the stock 8v, I'm debating on a new 2.0T, 20v motor.

The new 2.0T's are now 16V's again.. no more 5V heads...

also, why bother with such a new engine? It's expensive, and tuning for more power will be hard with it's direct injection... as they don't have bigger injectors for them and such...

Get a 1.8T and be done with it... cheaper, proven reliability, lots of tuning parts and BT kits, the swap has been done before, etc, etc...

Yeah, I've decided to do a 1.8t, as I've already got some 440 cc injectors I can use on that, along with a few other necessities.

Yeah, I'm going to use this one as a guide. Stock bottom end, 759 hp, 529 ft lbs. Not likely that I'll get those numbers, I don't have that much money, but hey, lets see what I can do.

lol... look @ what the alcohol does to the metal exhaust pipe alone...

And as for 759 hp on a stock bottom end.. lmfao... trust me, that motor does NOT have a stock bottom end. The 1.8T is a good motor, and can make a lot of power on a stock bottom end, but it won't make that much (reliably)... also I believe a buddy told me that it's displacement is 2000cc.

I'm not going to try for 750 hp. I'm going to shoot for around 500, and if I break the bottom end, well, I'll rebuild it. I'm EXPECTING TO BREAK STUFF. I know I'm going to break parts. I know I'm going to destroy a tranny, before I get a full season in. That's why I've got a couple extras here, including a 9A, that's being rebuilt, with straight cuts, and a peloquin. I'm expecting that I'll likely break that case, or something also. Hey, if you want to go, stuff only lasts so long.
