slicks are for guys who cant drive. there arent many people who are impressed by a cars times on a slick, after all this being a street racing site people are interested in what you can run in street trim

slicks are for people who mean business... i think you're spending too much time on this site, and not enough time on the track

track times dont impress me. if i wanted a fast track car id build something that i trailor theres that has 1 seat, guages, a cage, a big tire and a big motor with an adder. ive seen 14 second cars on slicks, im sure they meant business aswell, lol

so instead you build a fwd street car? ive seen your clips racing from a roll. your logic is flawed.
just because you bring a car to the track, doesnt mean it has to be a track only car. i would rather gauge how my car performs with a time slip and a standard known as the 1320, than to run my mouth about how fast my car is on the street because ive beaten car X and car Y from a roll.

if you can hook on the street, on a street radial, all the more kudos to you. i personally would enjoy the satisfaction out of knowing i made a 10s pass on a DOT tire, but running a slick wouldnt neccessarily mean "i cant drive".
slicks are more forgiving as well to your drivetrain than a lot of the drag radials out there as well.

I definately agreed with dj_jake on that one

Anyways unfortunely i wasn't able to get sound with your video. I must say though i would personalyl get rid of those blue silicone vaccum hoses. Those hoses are junk and can easily collapse especially on a turbo engine experience vacuum and boost pressure. The silicone hoses are also don;t hold a very good seal and are prone to boost leaks.

of the hours of videos ive made of my car racing ive got maybe 15 minutes of me racing from a roll. dont get me wrong, i run the car from a dig aswell, infact if my hd hadnt crashed i would have posted a video of me racing that transam in my vid from a dig twice and beating him the second time.

i personally wont respect a time put down on a slick from anyone bragging on the street, which is really what this place is about. its like addng a 100 shot of spray to your car and only running it at the track, or borrowing parts to make your car faster and then giving them back when its time to go home. its all the same. same with the guys who tin can their cars for that extra tenth or two. it doesnt impress alot of people. ill agree with you that on a lsick you can find the full potential of your car, but why brag about having a low 13 second car and then getting pumped by a mid 13 or even high 13 second car on the street.

as for a fwd street car, i built it because ive had the car since 99 and am having a hard time letting it go, plus its different from much of what your fgonna find on the street and yes i do drag race, i have been to the strip more times than many other people have and this year i plan on going there quite a bit as well as ill hopefully finally get a full season out of it.

i didnt say that because you bring a car to the track it has to be a track only car. read what i said, if i wanted a fast track car i would have done so, a purpose built car. i respect fast street cars dont get me wrong, but its hard to respect a time that someone at the local hang out it gloating about running on parts he isnt on the street, thats what im getting at

what it comes down to is a difference of opinion, you can like whatever you like and ill like what i like, jsut like with cars. i think bragging on a time your street car ran with parts that you wont use on the street is like bragging about jerking off to a picture of a girl youll never ****

Ya The lines are just for dress up they seem to be workin but if they break il get better ones. and for sound click windows media player. And for the street trim il get Street radials.

thats a different story, ive seen cars go to the local races here on slicks, thats a little different. but like i said, its like guys borrowing go fast parts and running different times, and ive seen that happen.

and the only reason i made the comment about hte 14 second pass on slicks was because i was once lined up against a neon, he ran a 14.8 to my 14.4 and he was on a slick, lol

And to ur slicks are for people who can't drive How are u goin to get traction when ur pushin alot of power with Normal tires And that's got to do with The drivers Ability to drive Ya i can see if u dump the clutch and 7oooooooooooooo Rpms. But be logical here Power= Slicks. There is nothin else to say.

well ive got a pretty good street tire that seems to grip really well at full pressure. ive also got an adjustable boost controller thatll let me launch the car hard while at low boost and then come third gear ill hit high boost and off i go. i pushed a fair amount of power last year, ill have even more this year so im no stranger to fwd and power and what it takes to get the car to stick. its all about being a finessfull driver and being able to control your throttle. some people can some cant.

i do understand what your saying because really to get the very best time out of your car youll want a slick, i might even put mine on a slick to see what its fully capable of but in reality im much happier running a half second slower at the track knowing full well that i can reproduce my times on the street.

thats just me though
