best bet is to tap into something that lights up when car is turned on...dash cluster if you have to...other option is put in a toggle switch so you can turn it on and off as you please and you can keep it connected to the same power source you are currently on.
I don't suggest this... Do it properly get a wiring diagram for the OEM radio harness and wire straight into the harness. Mine isn't exactly done this way since the guy before me did a half assed job like Quoted above I did some minor rewiring the necessaries. nobody likes car fires or replacing fuses continually because of load issues. loose connections can cause problems in the long run. Do it correctly or not at all.

StealthZ has a little shameless behaviour in the past
use a fuse tap and tap in to the wiper fuse in the fuse box...done.

Obviously you get the problem like that when you wire the ignition wire straight to the battery smartass. Common sense. The purpose of the ignition wire is its wired to the cars ecu to turn on once the key is turned on in the ignition which then initials the remote wire to turn on the amps. If its connected dirrectly to the battery its going to send power to your headunit it 24/7 until you finnally kill your battery.

agreed... this is why i said to put a on and off switch on your wire as a last resort...of if you just dont want your amp on when you dont wanta use your subs.

first off yes it is going to stay on always because u just said u wired the 12v constant and the 12v ign (which is like the acting swith to turn on the deck when the key is in the ign in acc mode.) this could have been avoided if you spent the money on the harness adapter from futureshop or w/e solder a couple wires that are labeled and plug the in !

You are asking for all kinds of noise getting into your audio signal doing this. To the OP obviously you do not have alot of experience doing installs. Not a bad thing, we were all there once. DO NOT DO THIS. There should be a spot in the fuse panel that you can crimp a connector on the end of your power wire and just plug it in. Check on your fuse panel for the radio fuse it is probably blown. Don't just look either they can go and not be seen easily replace it with a new fuse of the same amperage. If that does not work do yourself a favor before you really fry something, Stereo, battery, car, and get somebody that knows what they are doing to hook this up right. I would be more than willing to help if you are around the Brampton area PM me if you want.
