radio cuts out when headlights are on

any ideas???

once the lights are off the radio comes back on

What kind of car? Not 100% sure what the prob is but the only thing i can think of is that you grounded the deck to the illumination wire of the car. Check the wiring make sure the radio is grounded to a ground wire not the illumination wire, your best bet is to use a meter to check everything. PM me if that doesnt work.

stock deck
89 colt gt

previous owner cut the harness off, then re-attached them by twisting the wires and some masking tape (i know, i know)

ALL the wires were accounted for (matched colors)

still cuts out...

this used to happend to my civic.. check my fuses and wires, everything was good... then all of a sudden.. the deck came on.. no idea what caused this.. good luck man
