Hey guys, yesterday I started my car and at idle it would keep raising and dropping from 1000rpm to 2500rpm. I drove off and then when i stopped at my buddy's place I noticed the car was overheating. Temp gage was about a quarter from hitting it's peak.

I noticed that when the car is at a stand still it overheats. However as I drive the temp gage shoots up to a quarter from red, stays there, and goes back down to almost normal temp.

Also, I noticed the coolant is leaking. Topped it off yesterday and checked today, had to top it off again. For some reason my car no longer has heating either. Vents blow COLD air.

Anyways I was wondering if anyone knows of an honest mechanic in the Hurontario/Dundas area in Mississauga. Also, if you know what the issue most likely is, please feel free to share. I've been given some advice but I just wanted some more opinions.

Well how about you find out where its leaking from first? If not, mechanics will rape you and I will laugh at you.

Find where its leaking. Replace the hose if its one of the hoses. Your thermostat isnt opening or closing(not sure which one), thats why your getting cold air. Also your cooling system has air in it which could be one of the reasons your car is over heading.

If you really want a mechanic, there is a few around the Dundas and Mavis area..Called Farad's Automotive or something like that..My old boss used to go there.
