it is deffinaitly worth it "being able to fly and not get caught"

thats my opinion, if you have the $$ do it, like honestly you will never want to go back, it makes other radars look obsolete

which one did you go with paar? the third one you had as a choice? I had never heard of a valentine before, they sound pretty BA but idk about 400 bucks...i think i would take chances with a cheaper detector and if i do get pulled over the cost of the detector and a ticket would probably be cheaper yet lol

Yeah, I got the 3rd one I had listed. I like it so far, cool features, and the voice kicks ***.

Well see it goes on my trip home tomorrow

yeah i wanna rig a valentine on my bike somehow. 400 dollars is nothing compared to loosing your license for speeding. they recently changed it that if you're going over a hundo you get a felony. effing gay

I had the Cobra with the voice activation and all that....It worked well at first but I highly reccommend that you do not leave it in the windshield or on the dash all the time...With mine the sunlight warped the plastic and the speaker quit working all together....then eventually it would start lighting up for no apparent reason! Hope it works better for you.

Yeah, after I said that I remembered someone saying they arrest you right on the spot for going over a hundred. haha didn't that one guy 87RS or w/e get his liscence taken away for driving on the sidewalk? lol I still laugh when I think about that.
How would you put something like this on a bike? Would you even be able to slow down enough by the time you realize its going off and your going 120+?lol

you can get some special rig for your bike so that the display is in your helmet, and the actual radar gets mounted right above the handle bars, casue when your doing 120mph on a bike you dont have time to look down. and to whoever got a ticket for driving on the sidewalk, cheers buddy cheers. i did it at my school, but never got caught

i usto have one of the talking cobras, but i left it out in the windshield and it just eventually just crapped out, i was also driving my turbo eclipse at the time

Im saying if youre doing 120 on a bike, and you get clocked, you might as well outrun them unless you want your liscense gone.

Plus depending on the range of your radar, doing a buck twenty you are going to get a reading as soon as you see them anyway.

I just saw this post and I thought I would give some insight from 'the other side'

A radar detector is just that- it only detects the radar- they aren't cop detectors. With the new K and Ka style guns you can just pause the radar signal and when you see someone worth sticking the gun to you let off the 'hold' and you have them. Its perfect because you can always tell who has the radar detectors. The cars that keep going don't, but the ones who go from 20 over to the speed limit in 2 seconds are trying to get away with speeding. Laser guns are even worse. By the time your detector is blinking laser you are already caught.

I'm not saying don't speed. I'm just advising not to get into a false sense of security because you have a radar detector that it means you can speed and get away with it.

p.s.- You don't need a radar unit to give someone a speeding ticket in NY, I'm not sure about other states. You can issue a citation based on 'visual estimation of speed' so just keep that in mind as well.
