and what was hypocritical? i didnt ask for help on diagnosing an oil leak. i asked if anyone had any good tricks to getting the pan off.

its okay though i found the answer on cz28. im gettin my technical info from there from now on.

Ill keep that in mind, God.

Its funny how you never answer any of my technical help in threads, being you know "everything" and all.

sorry i dont work on v6s...

although for work i have to, and actually its kinda funny you mention this...last month at work i installed pacesetter headers on a 2002 3.8 and i kept wanting to ask you, how did your EGR fit? i had trouble getting it to work, the provision on the header was further down the primary than the stock manifold had it so it was kind of a stretch...

Actually Caleb I'm surprised you don't answer more V6 questions, you did rip apart your 1st car quite a bit and knew a lot about that motor. Just because you have V8 now doens't mean you don't have to help out the sixer guys and pretend you don't know anything about those motors-

And I know its a little late on your answer, but you don't need to drop the trans. I swapped my oil pan gasket with the motor in the car and keeping the k-member in the car as well. All you need is a cherry picker. Take the two motor mount bolts out and raise the motor as high as you can in the engine bay. Take out the oil pan bolts, take out the low oil sensor and the pan will drop enough to change the gasket.

What I did was line up the EGR to the header first, and then put the header to the head. Basically, I forced it to fit, but with ease. I hate the EGR. Mine has leaked ever since because that ****** design of the bolt on the bottom does not work, and Im pretty sure the thread is stripped. Ive been using exhaust cement ever since about every month. I think Im just gonna weld it soon. Its getting so irritating. I hate EGRs.

well ive helped many people out with some of their questions...but theyre all basic questions which everyone knows the answers to. no one really digs into the 3.4...

and as for my pan. it was easy. i actually unbolted the lower ball joints, struts, sway bar, and tie rods and loosened the steering linkage in preparation to drop the whole k member, but i was using the cherry picker anyway to hold the engine i just decided might as well lift it too.

i didnt want to just take the old gasket out and slap a new one in, i didnt wanna do the whole job again so i wanted to be sure there wasnt anything left. so i ended up lifting the engine about 3 or 4 inches, then lowered the k member down to the last threads on the bolts. ***** still didnt come out, so i rotated the crank not even a quarter turn and the sum ***** fell right out

yeah the kid came back and we just welded it. it wasnt really that bad, but of course we're supposed to be "professionals"
