Brain Buster for you electrical guru's Update!

archemedes, ok I ran the engine today. Got it up to 199 degrees. The iac still gets hot, real hot to where you can just touch it for a second, then you have to remove your finger. However, it has not froze up on me yet, like it was doing previous to me using this current wiring configuration. So, I will just have to continue running the engine and see if it stays this way. Perhaps it is suppose to get that hot, I have no idea? While I had the engine running, I hooked up my scanner and took some readings. Here they are:

Trouble codes currently set:
P0300 - Multiple random misfire (Mil light on)
P1652 - Fan # 2 relay control circuit
P1653 - Fuel level output control circuit

Also, the EGR failed a test. I will be checking on this!

Misfire counts:
Cyl # 1 - 6 counts
Cyl # 2 - 9 counts
Cyl # 3 - 7 counts
Cyl # 4 - 7 counts
Cylinders 5 and 6 readings did not show up on the scanner. Not sure why? I guess I will have to do it again.
Engine temp - 199 degrees
Engine rpm - 1927 rpm (I had my foot on the gas pedal to hold this rpm)
IAC Counts - 8 counts
Desired Egr position - 0 %
Egr D/C (%) - 0 %
Egr Flow Test Count - 0 counts
Egr Closed Val Pintle - 0.75 volts
Egr position error - 0.0 %
Linear Egr Feedback - 0.7 volts
Linear Egr Normalized - 0 %
Barometric press - 29 inHg
Barometric press - 1.9 volts
Long term FT bank 2 - 0.0 %
Long term FT bank 1 - 0.0 %
Decel Fuel Mode - Inactive
Fuel Trim Learn - Enabled
Fuel Trim Cell (BLM) - 2 counts
Loop Status - Closed
Current gear - 1
TWC Protection - Inactive
Calc engine load - 10 %
Manifold absolute press - 30 inHg
Mas air flow - 17 g/s
Map volts - 0.8 volts
TP sensor - 0.82 volts
Iat sensor- 115 degF
Fuel air ratio - 14.7
Cruise Inhibit - Yes
Injector pulse width - 5.7 msec
Maf frequency - 4160 HZ
Rich/Lean bank 1 - Lean
Rich/Lean bank 2 - Lean
02 sensor bank 1 sensor 1 - 13 mv
02 sensor bank 1 sensor 3 - 4 mv
02 sensor bank 2 sensor 1 - 22 mv

Any comments, or suggestions. I would love to hear it! Thank you for your support, Tommy.

Yes, the ignition control module is only about a month old. The coil paks are about six months old. I took readings before I installed these coil paks on this ignition control module and they were good. Yes, this is a tough one I'm fighting. Just have to keep looking and testing until the problem or problems are found. I will be installing new spark plugs, again today. This will be my 5th set. These plugs that I will be installing are ACDelco iridium plugs. I will also be changing my oil and oil filter. Thank you, Tommy.

have you been running ac plugs the whole time? When I worked at the dealer we had an issue with the s10's and ac plugs with multiple missfires, we put cheap autolites in and they things were fine (2 were after GM bought the trucks back from the customer under the lemon law)

I tried NGK and ACDelco. Tomorrow I will be installing a brand new set of ACDelco Iridium plugs. We shall see what happens. Thank you, Tommy.
