FUEL PUMP
94 Camaro 3.4 (Slomaro)
Turns Turns Turns nada. No pressure from the fuel lines...ahhhhh fooey
Fuel Pump and its inside the tank
Your opinions on the idiot meter for removal and replacement. Im a fairly ok wrench but curious about how difficult you all rate the removal and replacement of the fuel pump

Fuel pump removal...2 hours
Its actually very easy on the fbodies. Just cut a small 'trap door' in the hatch area, under the carpet and the whole unit is accesible without removing the rearend and fuel tank. Thats how I did mine and it was very simple. This isnt redneck either, its cost/time efficient. Here is a write-up on how do it:

Good luck!

it took me 20 mins to change my fuel pump! That redneck way the you were talking about but with the part you cut out i put a hing on it and and some weather stripping around the hole when i put it back on and it looks great! Im glad i did it beacause a lot of the aftermarket fuel pumps ruber hose on the pump inside the tank gose bad! I was at the track when it happend and it only took me 15 mins to pull the fuel pump and fix it! So i love it! If you do a search on ls1tech you will see tons of people do this!!

I remember when my fuel pump went out right when I was at the gas station and I had JUST filled the tank up....got in my car and there was no sound of the pump cutting on, you dont nessesairly have to drop the whole rear end, just loosen the springs and pry it down, but you DO have to remove the gas tank, now that is a *****. good luck.... and pray for when you have to replace the timing chain..ahah

Funny thing is I am a mechanic I have been ASE certified from UTI for about 5 years now I just havent did that for a few years and I know how much it would cost to do it If I thought it would hurt anything I wouldn't do it to my car and the other 90% of people on Ls1tech wouldnt do it
