hELLO ALL!!!

Ok...before anyone gets first impressions, my name is that way because I jsut bought this georgous 1995 Camaro 3.4....Ok...it is slow

I have had 5 Buick Grand nationals, and I am working on my 6th, but I got this 1995 Camaro 3.4 v6, and it needs anything!!! What can I do right away to upgrade this car to bring it up to par? It has flowmaster exhaust, from the cat back, with a punched cat.....What else?

Cold Air?
Chip?

do they sell headers? where and how much?

Is there a basic recipe that anyone recommends that I start off with, in order to gett his thing rollin??:banghead: The basic idea is to turbocharge in a year or two, but my other projects are a little cost prohibitive...what can I do???

I am in the military, so my budget is, as everyone knows, EXTREMELY limited....so...with that in mind....What to do????

Thanks all

Well first of all, welcome to the board! Secondly, there's a world of things you can do to bring the car up to par... but i'll get the standard anwser outa the way,

Intake and exaust. A good CAI and a set of headers will definatly wake it up.

oh yah...

Ebay.

if you are really interested in a turbo v6, idk that much about them but can anyone chime in here on the gains of swapping to a 3.8 before a turbo... i know the 3.8 is a really nice motor compared to the 3.4(no offense at all of coarse) but the 3.8 is like a ******* *** v6, especially with a turbo. you would know with the GN's tho.got

Welcome to

I use to own a 3.4 Camaro myself. I had an SLP intake, RKSport Headers, 3" Carsound high flow cat, SLP loudmouth, the rear end of a Trans Am with possi and 3.73 gears, and one piece aluminum driveshaft from an LS1 car.
Other than the 3.73 gears the mods really helped, if I had to do it again I would go with 3.42's at the most.

Sorry all...no pics yet...car is in great shape body wise, an NC car. Dash has a few large cracks that need to be fixed. As per everything else, aside from the flowmaster muffler and 2-1/2 inch cat, no mods yet!!! Car was adult owned, I am the third! Thanks so far!!!

As per a 3.8 swap...I thought about it, but I wanted to keep this car in the numbers of stock area....I like a challenge!!! hehehe. In regards to the buick stuff, I am basically out of them...I spent 5 years on a 10 second non-intercooled car, had loads of fun, but needed the $$$...Got a house and all...I had a few daily drivers...one ran 14's, two ran very consistent 12's, and now my brother and I are evolving another non-intercooled GN into low 11's... But that is his car, and I am just looking for a toy. I thought about the squires turbo system, and my younger brother is an auto shop teacher and a talented welder...he said it would be no prob hooking one up to the rear axle!!! lol...Then I gotta figure out fuel injectors, chip, intercooler, all that jazz!!! so...Right out of the box, I knew exhaust and CAI were on the "To Do" list... Is SLP the best kit for the air? what are the best headers for the buck? can a weekend mechanic install these, or do I have to rely on my mechanic brother? thanks so much all!!! pics coming soon!!!

Rob

I installed my headers/catback over the weekend, toook me a couple days, and it was my first time doing it. Getting everything off is about 75% of the work I think.

i would agree with paar the hardest part about a header install is the removal..i mean when i put mine on it took me almost two days just to break all the rusted bolts free.
