Ok, now it's just getting ridiculous. It took him all day today to get the fuel lines and i know he could of got them ordered locally. To be honest with you i think the mechanic is just taking his time on it. Working on it when he wants to. I know for a fact though he is the best guy to be doing this. My dad has known him for years and never had a complaint yet. This is a quote from what he said, "I will tell you right now, it might be longer then expected, but when you drive it out of here, it WILL be done right". Anyways, i just heard from my dad at around 3:00pm and he said the mechanic just got the new fuel lines in and he is going to start on it fresh tommorrow. If we dont run into anymore problems it "should" be done tommorrow. I've already paid for an arm and a leg to get this SOB installed. If i don't see a big difference in this i will be so pissed. Also, the mechanic did say he would probably give us a discount on it because Summit is the ones that didnt tell us everything that we were going to need. They told me what i ordered would be enough but i figured it wouldn't. Anyways, enough blabbing, ill keep everyone up to date.

man, FI is nice but if i can get out of emissions im going carb, it's so much more cost effective, that stealth ram i have heard was really good tho, i was planning on that for awhile, but i may have found a way out of emmissions. good luck

how is it more cost effective? A good carb is $500-600 to tune it correctly (99% of carb users have no idea how to tune one let alone have it done) you need a dyno so same general cost there, you don't get as good a milage, and performance tends to be a little worse with carb. The reason so many people swear by carbs is they are afraid of computers ( a computer based engine management is easier to tune, and easier to repair than a non computer controlled)

yea but one thing with carbs... theres not a PILE OF **** in the engine bay that is "helping" the engine. for that tiny little box on the intake, it sure does a lot. they couldnt even fit the computer in the engine compartment on most cars. its too much crap to deal with. plus, you cant just tune FI and be done. you cant just change jets and float bowls. you need to change injectors, TB, runners in his case, plennum, base and thats only the mechanical stuff. you still need a custom tune for 150 if your lucky, maybe more and thats not even a good dyno tune. carbs are simple and generic and a lot of people can tune them. theres not hobbyist that have 600 double pumpers that they bought and put on a adjusted a little bit, all over the place because carbs arent efficient and are very hard to make power with.

lol. Well, with my luck they ran into the problem today of the radiator hose being to small to fit the water neck so we had to go buy a new water neck that was smaller in diameter and we will see what this bring tommorrow. He said all he needs to do it hook that up, put radiator fluid in it and start it up and tune it and it should be done, so we will see!

I know 2 people who can actually tune a carb correctly, you don't have to change runners and all the with fi to tune it, you fine tune the computer, changing jets is only a small thing to a carb, and is not just a throw this jet in it can hurt power too.People buy carbs because they are afraid of change (and a bit nieve thinking it's easy to properly tune a carb) I have seen guys bragging how well tuned they havea carbed engine, and 15 minutes with a guy who knows what he's doing he gets more (the reason many racing sactioning bodies don't allow fi is because it's too easy to cheat)

thats like buying a cobra and putting a smaller pulley on and going faster. my sister could do that. its more fun to do something challenging. now i dont mean making a civic run 10s with a stock engine is fun but i think you know what i mean. yes there are some reasons im glad i have EFI but there are some reasons i wish i had a carb.
