question about dropin the cat
hey ive got a question, we're thinkin about dropin the cat. But only one thing stands in the way of it gettin droped or not. I dont know how takein the tube out of the cat that runs up to the air pump will affect the computer. Would i have to get it reprogram'd? or will it just not effect it at all?

Rest of the exhaust system remaining stock? Doubt you'll notice anything. Sept itll be noticeably louder and it sounds raspy sometimes just because theres nothing supporting the outside of the cat anymore (its thing so it flexes). If you dont have to worry about smog or emissions id just weld a piece of pipe in its place. It would behoove you to get the whole exhaust taken care of tho.

Yea, thats wht we're thinkin of doing is just welding a straight pipe. We just moved down to Florida so emissions is not a prob. ...and for exhaust that'll be a lil down the road. sometime this summer.

there is no difference going from a new style stock cat to a "high flow" (some of the high flow ones flow less than the stock ones on lt1 cars for instance) on the 3rd gen it gains 5 hp or so removing the cat completely putting in a high flow you gain about 4.5 over stock, some cars even perform better with the cat (I don't know why I just saw the dyno sheets and thought it was weird)
